The book is supposed to be turned into Baen by Monday. That is contingent on a section of it which needs checking by a foreign language editor who is working on it even now. So far as I know, Baen is still planning an October release if I get it to them before the end of this month.

They did the turn around on Cauldron of Ghosts in only six weeks, people. As I said earlier in this thread (for those who have read it) if anyone can turn it around in two months, it's Baen. They are fast when they need to be!

That's good news! But ... for sweeting the waiting time ... could we get a second snippet, please?

If it's French, it's on either Haven or New Tuscany.
German, New Potsdam, or someplace in the Anderman Empire. May Chien-Liu is seducing Mike?
The Original Klingon, who knows.

Assuming that the MS is turned into Baen in short order, when will the eARC be ready? I had hoped to read Shadow of Victory while on vacation next week.

Best guess? If David can deliver on Monday, than the e-ARC could be available as soon as Wednesday, August 24th. Depending for the time Baen needs to convert it into the different formats (epub, mobi etc) and to integrate it in its website. But no later than Friday, August 26th. After all, Baen knows about the impatience of the fans ...

Bit of a unit pick. New Tuscany is probably Italian as Tuscany is a region in Italy.

Also what about Rembrandt which is Dutch.

Even Aldona Anisimova is puzzled by why everyone on New Tuscany has French names while their planet is named after a region of Italy.

Just got the Newsletter, and there is the following phrase included, regarding the SOV e-ARC:

Newsletter wrote:check the Baen.com home page early next week

So it seems I was too pessimistic with the wednesday date. Maybe we get it as early as monday! ;)

Yeah, but...

Not sure about the book, but he mentioned the e-ARC was being released along with the sample chapters. I hope that means the eARC is out next week.
