I'd think the getting the PMV would automatically put your name on the list of future ship names.
However, I'd also expect that being alive is normally a disqualifier for getting a ship named after you. That is, ships get named for dead people, not the living. As such, most of the current characters aren't going to get ships named after them for a while (hopefully).

Just recycle ship names after old ships. Or use history as a guide. Or extract some political mileage, payback or patronage by have civilian committees determine ship names.

It does not matter what the ships are called. What is important is that you get the ships you need. Some old Earth wet ship navies named their ships after flowers, winds, seas, etc..

It depends on the nations involved. The USN likes to honor naval hero's, historical figures, states, cities, battles and famous ships. Japan uses famous ships, winds, tides, and mountains. Germany likes military hero's, cities and regions. England runs all over the place with military and historical leaders, famous ships, battles, flowers, heroic concepts e.g. Fearless Invincible Dauntless etc.

don't forget the mythical creatures. HMS dragon is one of the newer destroyers in the fleet.

For the Graysons, a Samurai-class would be appropriate:

GSN Oda Nobunaga
GSN Toyotomi Hideyoshi
GSN Takeda Shingen
GSN Date Masamune
GSN Tokugawa Ieyasu
GSN Miyamoto Musashi
GSN Uesugi Kenshin
GSN Hattori Hanzō
GSN Honda Tadakatsu
GSN Shimazu Yoshihisa

... and many more. Come to think of it, you could plausibly use those as Roland-class ship names.

I also like Revenge, Vengeance, and Retribution

My favorite ship names are from the Iain Banks Culture novels, but that is a very different universe. No More Mr Nice Guy and All Through With This Niceness And Negotiation Stuff would fit well with the spirit of upcoming Honorverse novels, I think.
