Given the lead times it must have been evident to TOR for several months that AtSoT wasn't coming out in October/November, because it hadn't been handed in yet so why on earth did they put it up on their own website and manifestly not tell Amazon there would be a change in the schedule?

To quote the immortal words of Strother Martin "What we have here is a failure to communicate!" (Cool Hand Luke - 1967 (I feel so OLD!)) FYI: It is still wrong on the HonorCon web site as well!

Ok, I have spoken to Tom Pope (who in turn spoke to David), and he has confirmed that AtSoT is not complete. David is working on it right now, but he has not completed the first draft yet.

Thanks, Duckk.

Thanks Duckk, did you happen to hear how the rest of David's
projects are proceeding?

David is basically in crunch mode, and has been for the past 9 months or so. It's so bad it's not likely I will see him at all this trip. Sharon says maybe a few more weeks to finish Safehold, then he needs to go back and make some changes to Shadow of Freedom. After that, I'm guessing he'd want some time to relax.

Isn't it a bit late to make changes to Shadow of Freedom?

A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Apparently not, according to Sharon.

Well, I hope he's taking care! Sure, we would all like the books sooner rather than later, but not at the expense of damage to his health.

Well, technically HonorCon is still correct. It will come out *sometime* after HonorCon. Just not as soon after as we hoped. ;)

Are we really talking about Shadow of Freedom (published 2013) here or is it a misprint for Shadow of Victory? If it's SoF, why is he changing it now? If it's SoV 'A few more weeks to finish Safehold then some changes to SoV' means DW won't be finished with SoV till mid-August. Which gives about 10 weeks from turning in the final version to the publication date of 1 Nov. I know Baen are good, but ...
