Three Dee Printing is changing things. We spent a nice lunch talking about possible applications. Now if we can combine CHON food with the printing tech, then what would we have?
Combining three dee printing with protein synthesis? Then protein sequencing synthesis? The four elements in ... food out? Soon to be like the stuff on Star Trek? Earl Gray ... hot! Proteins, carbohydrates and lipids or fats. Combined in near infinite configurations. Not just tasty glob but eventually quite delicious foods perhaps non distinguishable from real. Next may be nanotecks that breaks down common garbage into basic components that might be reusable or even eaten. We are already seeing this with bugs that turn oil into yummy food. Or like already read about in Mr. Webers books, bio tech that literally grows star ship hulls in a nutrient bath. Just add a little power and wait a bit. Very strong. Very cheap. |

In the sixties (When i was born) and Seventies i remember the Trolley buses that used overhead wires and telescoping connector to power the electric powered buses. The telescoping connector let the buses pass stuck vehicles or blocked road lanes. No batteries needed, no hybrid engines, everyone looks for new batteries and things and forgets that we already have had the solution years ago. ________________________________________

Not only foods that are dead but foods or other that are alive. T-rex liver with your Brontosaurus Egg? While your DNA matching new Heart is being printed? ________________________________________

If you're not connected to WiFi, you must be unconscious: you're incapable of communicating.

How about: you just pick something to believe - digging through the enormous amount of available evidence is too much work OTOH, how about: inexpensive CNC woodworking http://www.diymagicmachine.com/vsl/inde ... ative+news Douglas Hvistendahl

Back in 1970 when living in San Francisco, we rode the "Muni" which was the city bus service. Some of the old electric buses had the overhead hookups.
Sometimes the electric bus had to drop the connections and move a bit to another overhead power connection. The bus used on board batteries. I asked the drivers how far they could go on just on board batteries. About one block was the answer. Far enough. This was in 1970. Long time ago. We lived in the Sunset District then not far from the trollie cars. In deep fog we could sometimes smell the ozone and hear the arcing of the wires. Neat. In deep cities, public transit is the answer. Even here in rural/remote SW OR USA, there still is use for good electric cars. Energy is the concern. Until somebody invents an energy storage system that works much better, electric cars will continue to be ignored here in rural USA. At least here. But ... there is hope. We watched an electric small private plane taxi out, take off and climb steeply away. About 30 minutes range. A step forward. Future tech? Energy storage systems. Artificial food development. Further communication improvements. Transportation improvements. All possible. |

"Zero to One" by Peter Thiele with Blake Masters is well worth reading re future tech. Some will remember Peter Thiele as a co-founder in Paypal and Palintir, others as an investor in many start ups Douglas Hvistendahl
