OK, I was just doing some idle due diligence trying to see if there was anything new from MWW's appearance at the SoonerCon last week. Since there seems to be nothing said (non-spoiler) about SafeHold, I checked the "Conventions" forum here and got the link to David's own HonorCon at the end of October. http://www.honorcon.org

(CHOKE) There is, right there at the top of the page, the following squib;
David Weber's new book 'At the Sign of Triumph' is the 9th novel of the Safehold Series and will be released right after @Honorcon 2016. :x
Yeah, I know another week won't kill us but the other sites (Amazon etc) still have the 10/25/16 date. So who is authoritative here, RFC's own Con or the publishers? Yet another kerfuffle to keep us on our metaphorical toes, right? :roll:

FYI: for various newbies and to keep the irritation down, the following acronyms all refer to our esteemed author; MWW - Mad Wizard Weber, RFC - Runs for Celery!

Never mind the date quibble, HonorCon definitely ought to know what is really happening so this is probably the best evidence yet that AtSoT really is coming out around the end of October.

Ok, I have spoken to Tom Pope (who in turn spoke to David), and he has confirmed that AtSoT is not complete. David is working on it right now, but he has not completed the first draft yet.

Here we are looking forward to October but with this news it looks like it will be 2017! Ah well, anticipation makes the meal that much more to be savored! Right? :roll:

Thanks for the update. Hopefully not too much of a delay.

Unless Tor massively fast-tracks the process, we're looking at summer 2017 earliest, and that's if Himself finishes in the next couple of months.

I would have been totally shocked at any other news, really. The positive spin on this is that it means that the HH novel has very likely been turned in, and given Baen's faster turnaround for DW it's likely on track for it's planned fall release.

Well, Amazon (for one) is still reporting the 10/25/16 release date so someone probably needs to clue Jeff Bezos on that one! :lol:

Don't understand how the publishing industry works or how they can be so clueless about marketing. Given the lead times it must have been evident to TOR for several months that AtSoT wasn't coming out in October/November, because it hadn't been handed in yet so why on earth did they put it up on their own website and manifestly not tell Amazon there would be a change in the schedule?
