Tomorrow I will find out just how far to the left my state really is. I have always joked that I live in the Socialist Republic of California and I really hope that the state lives up to my so called joke and votes overwelmingly for Bernie Sanders... thus repeating the 1968 Chicago Democratic contested convention.

I moved out of Kommiefornika back in 1987. Political refugee even then. Wonder how bad things have gotten today?
Things we routinely do and enjoy here daily in SW Oregon, USA will get one arrested in CA. Big Prison time if convicted. It has gotten so bad now trips to the CA Central Valley to visit family no longer occur. Like traveling to a foreign nation. Even visiting the SW Oregon Coast is now very lengthly. A 150 mile detour is needed to prevent crossing over into Kommiefornika. Amazing how an imaginary State Boundary can change things. I am also curious how the primary turns out on 7 June, 2016. |

If moving between states in the USA is so scary that you've stopped doing it, I'd suggest that you don't travel to any of the developed countries. Probably the "Things we routinely do and enjoy here daily in SW Oregon," are carry lethal weapons? Not needed or legal anywhere in the developed 21st century world.
Could you not leave them at home and go visit your relatives in California? If you are psychologically unable to travel without lethal weapons you should probably seek assistance.

I believe my particular regional, social, economic, and political situation here in SW Oregon, United States, about 43N, 123W has been adequately explained at this point in time.
Feel free at any time to come on up and over and we will walk the nighttime streets of our home town. Of course you will feel much safer and braver not needing any self defense weapon. You probably made your non intelligent remark because you feel somewhat embarrassed, helpless and angry NOT being able to protect and defend your own family from rabid kangaroos? Of course your guns were taken away by your own government because of the expired threat of nasty Japanese invasion? Sosss, a good SMLE does not have the range as a politicians smile? |

No need to be rude and impolite. Should I feel guilty because my country has developed a society where no general citizen carries a lethal weapon or needs to?
From what I have read and what you say then California has a somewhat similar safe society? If so why don't you want to visit it? I have a locked cupboard of guns which I can touch from my desk (does so), so my government hasn't taken them from me. General citizens here don't usually have pistol or revolver licenses, but don't need them. Among my guns are a SMLE, a 30.06, a beautiful side by side shotgun, a 243 match rifle, a bolt action shotgun optimised for 3 inch magnum slugs, a 22, and don't forget the cross bow and compound bow. Note none of these are concealable. The bit about defending my family from rabid kangaroos is quite funny, in that I once was a part time kangaroo hunter selling the skins and carcasses to fund my university education, which has since enabled me to have the finances to defend my family from poverty and such. Nowadays the wild kangaroos on my bushland acreage are quite tame. Incidentally we don't have rabies in Australia.

I believe my point was well made and Daryl pretty much self destructed any possible credibility.
Developed countries or nations? OK. If you say. Do I need to seek assistance? Yep ... need more ammo. OK. Absolutely no Australian rabies.. And here I thought all your liberal politicians were infected? Also, just who did win the California Primary? Also the results on the various other stuff voted upon? |

Funny thing to note. Our equivalent to the Republicans are The Australian Liberal Party. Values range from soft conservative all the way to what you call tea party.
Intrigued as to my self destruction of my credibility? Every word I typed was true and rereading it I can't see how it could have done that. I'm not the one who has to carry a hand gun when out.
