Thanks!
I guess it's kind of hard to update when you don't have the info.

The released date is 25th of October on Amazon. Which means Mid November for me down here in Australia . As I will combine the shipping cost with Shadow of Victory.

Freely inspired from bits of the catholic Eucharistic prayer IV :

It is truly right to give you thanks, truly just to give you praise, RFC, most insightful, for you are the one Author living and true, existing before all books and abiding until the end of stories, dealing in enjoyable words ; yet you, who know all but suggest most , the source of words, have made all that is written so that you might fill your readers with insights and bring joy to many of them by the way of your words. And so, in your presence are countless hosts of fans, who pester you day and night and, gazing upon the picture of your next cover, nag at you without ceasing. With them we, too, confess your name with exultation.

We give you praise, Author most insightful, for your books are great, and you have fashioned all your works in wisdom and craftiness. You formed characters and entrusted the whole fictional world to their care, so that in serving the plot line alone, they might entertain all readers.

And when through pressure from fans they had steered away from the plot, you did not abandon them to the domain of death. For you came in mercy to the aid of Honor, so that she might live to the end of the story. Time and again you offered your fans continued twists and through the next chapters taught them to look forwards to the ending.

And so you loved Safehold, Author most insightful, that from the beginning of the series you sent your first imagined PICA to be its main character. Made by factories of the Terran Federation and loaded with the consciousness of Nimue Alban, he shared the human nature in all things but flesh. To the Ahrmahks he proclaimed the hope of victory, to Safeholdians, freedom, and to Clynthan's fanatics, damnation.

Therefore, O Author, we pray : may the snippets graciously fall into the hands of us fans, that they may become the subjects of speculations on the follow up Safehold book, which you yourself left us as a yet to be finished series.

For when the hour will comes for the book to be published by Tor, Editor slowest, having read the snippets posted on the forum, we will read the book to the end : and while we are at the bookshop, we will take the book and give it to the clerk, saying :

"Take this, and tell me the price, that I may buy it : for this is the book which has been written for me by David Weber."
-------------
'Oh, oh' he said in English. Evidently, he had completely mastered that language.

but let, we pray, these snippets fall regularly and speedily and just before the great and glorious day of certain Release - not like unto the last time when we were left in sackcloth and ashes waiting for the occasional crumbs and wondering what follies we had committed to cause so great a chastisement!

Thank you and give him our collective "best wishes" when you see him :D

I'll second that, and extend it to Sharon and the rest of the family.

HI Duckk,

Just for my own slow brain, when you say the board software, do you mean macmillans web site that has the release date posted.

Thanks.

Are you sure that isn't Darth Vader and Princess Leia?

Amazing to see a cover, and maybe all us naysayers are wrong after all.

Seriously, I'm inclined to think those soldiers are approaching the APC or Assault Shuttle whose ramp Merlin is standing on, rather than going the other way, so they may not be friendlies. As for what the guy on the right is holding; it could be anything from a quarterstaff to a MK4 TF Marine Phaser Rifle, the resolution is so low.

At a listed 608 pages, it seems almost too short to really pick the plot up and move it to the destruction of the temple. Especially given the speed with which the story has moved in the last few books.

However, showing an assault shuttle or transport, would be a huge step in matters. Something glorious or troubling must have happened for that sort of technology to be popped out in the open.

Let's hope it's a sign that things will be stepping right along in the story!

I wouldn't count on it; MTaT's cover shows a high-tech ship flying low over an infantry battle in full view of all the participants, which never happened in the books.
