On the subject map, look on the equator, left side, for the "Sea of Harchong" and "South Harchong Empire."

Between the "G" in Sea of Harchong, and the "S" in South Harchong Enpire lies Claw Island.

I preferred my map with barbeque sauce... Enjoy!

This is the map I was complaining about. If Claw Island is marked on it, I'll eat that map, every blessed electron of it. A couple of tedious close re-readings of the passage that was confusing me eventually revealed how I had been misreading it. A decent map would have revealed the source of my confusion in seconds.

Likewise, this same map contains no place names within the Republic of Siddarmark, so using it to try to work out deployments and troop movements is not doing me any good. As annoying as it is to have no clear pictures of what's going on, there's no point in investing any more effort if the necessary resources are going to continue to be lacking.

Do you want fries with that???

Claw Island is on the map that opened when I clicked your link.... however; in the interest of fairness, I just downloaded the map found off the link under downloads found at the top of this page and... WTF... not labeled as Claw Island..
I also checked the copy in OAR inside front cover and it is the same as the download... evidently we have a revision that wold not meet ISO Document Control Standards
Just my 2 ₡ worth

It should be noted that there are two versions on Joe's site [with clear identification by date and book, BTW, so I'd say the standard requirement was met]. The one on this site is apparently the older one that Joe has here: http://infodump.thefifthimperium.com/en ... hold/232/1 . I imagine that the fact that it's not the more recent one can be ascribed to a bug in the webmaster.

Isaac is pointing you to the newer one - which is still sadly out of date, of course. However, it does have Claw Island and a great many places in Siddarmark clearly identified, which makes me think that Paul hasn't actually seen it yet. A great many places mentioned in the last 2 books are marked but not named, but there are a few rather significant places that are missing. Mostly in NW Siddarmark, and not on the maps in HFQ either, which is particularly frustrating.

Yes, yes. Understatement of the year. My biggest complaint with Tor or the series. Lack of detailed maps..........

Yes, as the map states it's as of Mid Trial and Tribulation so it's fully 2 books out of date.

I'm rereading LAMA and trying to work out the details of the strategic deception they pull on the Army of Shiloh is driving me nuts. I need to know where "Mymphys" is. Anyone ever found a map with Mymphys marked?

Seriously, after all, the Army of Shiloh is involved, and Shiloh was a big Civil War battle fought in Tennessee. So having Mymphys as a place might be a subtle joke, just like having Colonel Sahnders in HFC
