I think this misses the point. It's all well and good for those "in the know" to make personal adjustments for what they consider authoritative, but how does that help people who are completely new to the verse? For example, I didn't say the wiki is authoritative, but I think you can pretty easily see how newbies could
believe it's authoritative.
The Honorverse is pretty big. I think it would help promote sales if there was a definitive guide for newbies to follow.
Oink, all I can tell you is the Wiki is a Wiki - built by some readers and the data in it is their interpretation of the books, and while most is correct, a fair % of the data in it is inaccurate or wrong based on the books and what David has said in side info dumps.
The closest thing to an official Honorverse data source is Compendium #1, House of Steel. There will be 2 more, but the data in the 1st one is only as complete as David and BuNine wanted to give us - which is considerably less than we wanted. Beyond that - read all the books, anthologies and side stories. Read the Free Short Stories at Baen's Free Library and Honorverse Details at Baen's FAQ link, backread this Forumn and the one at Baen's Bar. Read the collected Pearls of Wisdom from David at The Fifth Imperium website. Read the background & ship details in the Saganami Island Tactical Simulator game and it's Shipbooks, and finally read the 2 Jayne's Intelligence Reviews.[/quote]
Some of the information in House of Steel is wrong. Like who Samantha adopted in the book HAE Samantha's person is Henry ' Harry' Tschu but in HoS it's George Tschu. Or Dianchet name is a Celtic God of healing but he's a Greek God of the Hunt (actually Artimis) in HoS and he is stated to be just over 30 T-years old when WPD he's stated as being 47.5 T-years old. There are more examples but you get the point.
