But there's very little else shown about the book...

There was no date (nor was there a jacket illustration) at the MacMillan site. But Amazon did send an email with the following info:

Weber, David "At the Sign of Triumph (Safehold)"
Estimated arrival date: October 31, 2016 - November 04, 2016

So if I begin a re-read around Labor Day, the book might be here when I am ready for it. Hmmm. I AM ready for it NOW!

Release date at the MacMillan site was down at the bottom in the "Buy the Book" section.

Duck posted on Shadow of Victory book thread in Honorverse forum today, 4-16-16:

Last I heard, David was editing Shadow of Victory, and may be close to finished by now. He probably hasn't started the next Safehold book yet. I'll know more when I see him this summer.

Sure, we'd all like snippets, but let's give him time, guys. After his and his family's earlier vicissitudes (and I don't know whether or not these are fully over yet), RFC will have an enormous amount of catching up to do, and demands on his time and energy aren't going to ease up any. As somebody once said, there are only 24 hours in the day, and there is only one of him. Plus, like the rest of us, he's not getting any younger.

I wouldn't be too surprised if we heard virtually nothing from him at least until the next couple of books are published, and maybe longer.

Well, I'd have to say that any sign of a snippet would likely increase traffic to this forum. Seems somewhat dead as I now return to the land of normalcy after months of being a practicing tax preparer.

Everyone would love to get more Safehold story in the form of snippets, but unless the MW is holding out on Duck then he hasn't written anything yet to snippet. It's not like we're just waiting on the required first draft (IIRC, he's never snippeted an incomplete story, though he has given snippets prior to cutting down the wordcount), it's that NOTHING exists.

If he started writing it today, I'd guess it would be October at the very earliest we'd possibly get any tidbits.

I think you're being a tad bit pessimistic about the progress of AST. If you aren't then we probably looking at Oct 2017. :( :(
BTW, is it AST or AtST?

Yes, it has been very dead the last few months.

Much as I would like to believe it is true, even I have to think there is something just a tad unlikely about David's two publishers issuing major hardbacks by him a week apart; Amazon has AST being released on 25th Oct and Shadow of Victory on 1st Nov!

and since the Honorverse book is the one that we have been informed that he is working on, it is most likely the more accurate date.

Yeah. I hate to say it but from what Duckk said he either has not yet started AST or has started it fairly recently. If this is correct, we won't see it at all this year. In fact, given how long it takes Tor to move from the author turning in the draft to publication, we probably won't get it till later in 2017.
