Yes. Just got an email from Amazon with a new estimated delivery date around Nov. 1, so Duckk was correct. As usual.

I don't see that date happening either if he hasn't started it yet, unless he's got a lot of material culled from previous books already queued up.

The MW can write *insanely* fast, but the old days of him cranking out a 400 page novel in 5 months are gone. The story lines are much more complex and evolved now, and he's got teenage girls at the house. Two of them. I've only got one, and that's nuts enough. Can't imagine two. A son as well, but boys don't count in the drama department.

Note that I'd LOVE to be wrong here.

Is that from TOR or just Amazon? From TOR it would actually be a fairly positive sign, IMHO. It is no longer some default date entered maybe years ago and why would the publishers put out a new date they knew they hadn't a hope of meeting? Last time DW was late submitting TOR put the book back by a year or so, 3 weeks sounds like there is some minor hiccup but the book will get out. If it's just from Amazon of course it would be much less significant.

Despite what people persistently believe, Amazon doesn't make up release dates nor does their system require a specific date for an item to be listed. They show whatever the producer tells them.

Not long ago I had a product on pre-order that initially had a release date, went to to a state of "we don't know when but they say it is still happening", then got a new release date, with steps 2 and 3 repeating several times over a period of about 2 years.

So, yes the date I mentioned was listed an Amazon but that is only because Tor had to have told them the date.

For what it's worth, the title of the book at the Tor-Forge site is "At the Sign of Triumph", and it's due for release in October of this year.

But there's very little else shown about the book...

I think it's time for a complete re-read starting with OAR.

There was no date (nor was there a jacket illustration) at the MacMillan site. But Amazon did send an email with the following info:

Weber, David "At the Sign of Triumph (Safehold)"
Estimated arrival date: October 31, 2016 - November 04, 2016

So if I begin a re-read around Labor Day, the book might be here when I am ready for it. Hmmm. I AM ready for it NOW!

Given a quoted November arrival date, May would be 6 months before issue and thus a LOGICAL date to begin SNIPPETs!

Me want SNIPPET, me want NOW!

True, indeed DW has not posted here since November. For whatever reason he has abandoned us to our own devices. So I'm not going to hold my breath for any snippets of either of the new books.
