What are the various ways that the cat's special abilities can profoundly aid the military, simultaneously allowing the treecats to realize their desire to assist? Just as the cats, can you kill...

Two Mesans With One Stone?

Practical Applications of Treecat Abilities (PATA)
You have to imagine that on Manticore, as would be on Earth, there must be a branch of the RMN whose sole responsibility is to develop ways to militarily exploit treecat abilities.

MILITARY'S FIRST RESPONSE
Weaponize it!

...

I SPY, one treecat can infiltrate the entire Mesan home world and all of its memories will be available to any and all cats. Allowing follow up cats to be intimately familiar with the terrain, making it significantly easier to plan attacks and to a degree not naturally possible.

Can you imagine traveling to a strange new land somewhere for the first time, but because a brother or sister, or friend has been there before, it is as if you have as well?

That would be very cool. To a human, it would be equivalent to...

"Hey man, you ever been to Seychelles?"
"Yes, I have. Wanna borrow my memories?"
"Like... wow! :o Who's that fine filly?"
"Never you mind!"
"Ohh! I See!"

In a platoon, treecat takes lead. The rear can see anything cat does. If an ambush is made, odds are it won't be successful.

Can you conceive of any other ingenious exploits?

Or perceive? :D

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

you missed the direct port of the existing treecat integration...

Imagine the bodyguards the Detweiler's already have, 'upgraded' with the ability to sense the emotions of others. Or hell, the Queen/Empresses Own, the Presidential Guard, any Grayson Armsmen, etc with same.

They already watch the few 'cats they receive like hawks, but if that ability could be bred into them directly, they'd take it. Getting human-human telepathy, in addition to the emotion sensing would simply be getting to eat their cake, and have it too.

In that manner, I've always imagined an advantage to Honor inasmuch as high sensitivity to the "crease," was it called? Which also seems to play well with her style of "aggressive" coup de vitesse.
