Uh, anything besides this like range, ship class (yours), position, geometry, respective velocities and equipment readiness. All of those factors would play a part, also is this a slave ship we are talking about or just a merchant ship with slaves in the hold?

Break out my secret stash of info on the master slavers I work for and see what sort of Deal I can get that keeps me alive and minimizes the jail time. P.S. disable any slave dumping mechanisms.

If I know that I will be hung despite any info I can give up; I would self destruct ship when said Manticoran BC and or support vessles pulls up alongs side to board. At this point I might as well take as many with me as possible.

Lock myself in the specially prepared brig with the falsified records indicating I was taken onto the ship as a prisoner.

Actually if I was a bastard enough to be a slave runner I'd probably space them and run for it/blow the ship.

Manticore captains have discretion, and unless you were unlucky enough to draw a real hard arse, the odds are that you would not be summarily executed if you helped and hadn't been guilty of atrocities. Honor handed pirates in to planetary governors even though she suspected they would be recycled as soon as she left.

The BC is never going to pull up next to the freighter - it's pinances will. All you are going to do is kill a dozen or so marines and a couple naval ratings - at best a Captain Kirk, lead from the front type Officer - and in the process piss off more Manties who will hunt your brethren.

As for being a Psychopath, the dude's already captaining a slaver - I believe that psychological profile is actually a part of the job description.

In the proposed condition, I would take to the boats and blow the reactor (before the Manties got too close). No ship = no evidence of slaving equipment = no slaves = Good luck proving we're slavers.

As for the 10,000 lives I just so callously ended - see the above comment of the prerequisites for the position.

Not too far off my idea, which was to kill the crew of the vessel, destroy the records etc., duck into the non-genetic slaves quarters(IIRC, some slavers still kidnap people rather than growing them) and keep my head down.
