Excellent find (link below for part 2); the Honorverse part starts ~18.45 and goes till ~22.20 and has a few tidbits, most notably - reconfirmation of ending the current arc in the following book hoped for April 2018, more Honorverse books after, Honor delivering the best line of the series (DW mentions two such lines there including my favorite one from SoF ...“that people like you always think you’re more ruthless than people like me?”), very little Henke though in the book, the stuff above about the action, crucial book for the final one; worth listening http://www.sfsignal.com/archives/2016/0 ... -part-two/ |

Interesting...not a lot of spoilers, just enough to whet the appetite.
If Honor is going to have the 'honor' of delivering the best line of the series, it will have to be something incredible, considering the lines that have been spoken before (if you haven't, go hunt up the one-liner thread (probably back a few pages now), and see what he's up against. And Haralahap vs. Harkness-Tremaine...considering Scotty has a division of SAG-C's, it must take place on the ground. Sorry to see less for Mike Henke to do. But if she's still at Mesa, she will be involved, I hope. And cutting 100,000 words of Weber!?!?! Say it ain't so, Dave! Say it ain't so!! ***********************************************
No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow. What? Look, somebody's got to have some damn perspective around here! Boom. Sooner or later. BOOM! -LT. Cmdr. Susan Ivanova, Babylon 5 |

It's not actually Scotty vs Damien.
Not directly, at least, although Himself did say that the wheels do come off rather spectacularly for our friend Firebrand. [Who, you will recall, has been taking it for granted that the Manties won't respond to requests for assistance from people they've never heard of.] What Scotty gets to do is arrange things so that he doesn't have to kill Sollies in job lots. That should be fun to see - Sollies take a lot of convincing. Chopping off 100k or so surplus words is apparently normal procedure - and people are still whinging about the time it didn't happen. AAMOF, one of the things he mentioned is that he & Toni are thinking about publishing a properly edited 2nd edition.

AAC would be a much better book if had been assaulted by a red pen. As would a Cauldron of Mistakes.
But it's better that have them published than not. |

I thought that Scotty would have a major role in this book and would be one of the ones dealing with Firebrand's schemes.

I wonder if by any chance some of those 100k of edited words could make their way into the snippets forum

Obviously I'm highly depressed at the apparent lack of Michelle Henke whom I love and adore, but hopefully if we're seeing a lot of the Talbott Quadrant I'll still get plenty of Dame Estelle and Augustus Khumalo (who need to get married).
I'm also very, very excited for whatever Scotty gets up to. And for Honor's upcoming one-liner. But of course, first and foremost, I need Eloise. ~*~

There's another long running SF/F series, one of whose main complaints is the lack of editorial red in the publication cycle. |
