The economic wargame is a continuation of the military wargame by other means.

One I heard a lot in college...
As long as I owe you, you'll never go broke.

Although I still don't understand it.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Yes, the current equities turmoil is an inevitable result of manipulated markets, false statistics, and misplaced hopes, but it is indeed a tangible crash in the making. It is in no way an example of a predictable and non-threatening “market cycle”, and the fact that mainstream talking heads and the people who parrot them had absolutely no clue it was coming is only further evidence of this.

From an August 2015 analysis. My (borrowed) comment: "The more things change, the more they are the same."

Anything that uses the word "wealth" is a scam.

A friend's feisty old grandmother...
The government ain't broke. It just ain't got no money. It's a work in progress-ive tax.

But value can be observed, even though you need to allow for the subjective component. Some kinds of value can even be stored.

On the stupidity of "offshoring":
After you give the Chinese everything they need to manufacture your products, what do they need you for?

Leftists are all in favor of "combating" rising college tuition with government loans. The colleges' completely predictable response is: "It's rainin' money! Git a bigger bucket!!"

More like removing government loans and offering free education.
But the reality would be more complex than that.
