There are some pretty schitty jobs in this world, some literally. Some shifty ones too. Some are very important and some are quite profound. But then there are the really cool ones. People that get paid a handsome salary for doing what we envy them for. Like the people who just sit around and think of commercials...
"Hey team! We're on a deadline here! Lock yourself up in a room. Smoke some Maui Waui or whatever you have to do to get those creative juices flowing, and come up with us a hit!" Like this haunting little number with the very talented voice... https://youtu.be/v2IkZZmd6RA Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |

Astronauts.
Talk about a God's eye view. They get to see the big beautiful blue ball from space, are able to point to the entire Earth, "I live on that planet right there." Astronauts should ring meteorologists while they're up there. They can even see lightning strikes. And you know at least one female astronaut has done the phantasmical dance over the poles. "Hey baby, I can give you pleasure that's out of this world!" Later, both of them can pass a lie detector... "I'm telling you. I haven't slept with a single person on this Earth!" Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. No question being an astronaut is cool...albeit a hell of a lot of work, before and during a mission. But..
Given the limited space and very little in the way of privacy, I tend to doubt (without evidence to the contrary) that there are any members of the "100-Mile High" club yet. The will be sooner or later, I think, but probably not now. As for the literally 'coolest' job, try this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amundsen% ... le_Station And to provide a more serious answer: The guy flying the large hot-air balloon over the Masai Maru in Kenya (or his colleague with the balloon in the Serengiti in Tanzania) every morning at down. I know, since I was a passenger once. Very seriously cool. ***********************************************
No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow. What? Look, somebody's got to have some damn perspective around here! Boom. Sooner or later. BOOM! -LT. Cmdr. Susan Ivanova, Babylon 5 |

Another best COOLest jobs in the world is actually getting paid to drive a big red and white fire engine. Red on the bottom, white cab roof. Big, powerful and very quick. Not so fast thought.
You get to speed within policy. You get to creep through stop signs. You get to run red lights if you do it safely. And you get to blow the big special air horn and work the siren too. Then ... when you get to the whatever fire, you get to grab a big fire hose and squirt water everywhere, sometimes even on the fire. Then rarely you get to save the fat lady. All very fun. I had at one time 40 years ago that perfect job. It is funny how you only remember the fun stuff. Not the 90% boredom. Not the 10% exhaustion. Certainly not the 1% utter terror. Long ago. |

To me, the coolest job in the world would be traveling around reviewing luxury hotels and restaurants for a high-end travel guide. Either that, or Sofia Vergara's lingerie fitter.
