Do you know if the ebooks will be updated with the maps? A while back I was surprised to see that I had updates for some of the Safehold books on my iPad. Are you or is the publisher updating the books as printing errors are found?

(Aside: the forward of one of the reprints of Lord of the Rings described all the issues that Tolkien had getting his books published; after reading the list of everything that had gone wrong, I was amazed that any book manages to get published at all!)

I do not know why they were updated - it could be for reasons completely outside the text and not related to the publisher at all. Hence my question.

I was online looking at a fictional history of the invasion of Japan in 1945 last week and noticed that the author had produced a separate book containing all the maps used to support the war game that was the basis for the fictional history. I clicked on the link provided and was impressed by what I saw.

I would happily fork over US $25.00 to $30.00 for a separate set of operational and tactical Safehold map sheets that I could take out and look at as I reread the primary texts. (Do you hear me TOR? ) In my vision, these maps would be like the map folders on the U.S. Army's Green Book history of World War II. The reader could take them out of the book (or folio) and unfold them to make it easily follow the text.

I started trying to do this with the maps in HFQ on my own because my mental picture of the unfolding situation was very incomplete. I took a picture of the up front maps in HFQ and posted the resulting jpg and made them the background on a PowerPoint presentation. Then I added the five standard colors for a military map to the background. Then I started showing unit symbols on the slide itself. Life (other far more important commitments like my wife's health) prevents me from finishing up my initial efforts. I say again I would love it if TOR would commission someone to do this. I don't want copyright laws infringed and certainly want RFC/MWW and other groups involved to get their fair cut of the price of and the credit for the finished product.

still says 'As of MTaT' and doesn't have, e.g. the Kyplynger Forest. Am I looking in the wrong place or is the new map not up yet?

Hello RFC! Please let the folks at Tor know I'm standing right behind USMA74 with credit card in my hot little hand!! Their idea of put up something we can't play with is just plain stupid ( I really hate to use the "S" word but can't think of a better word for it in this case.) I don't know how many copies of HFQ and LAMA have been sold but I would be surprised if at east a tenth of those buyers wouldn't jump at a Safehold maps product.

The dearth of activity in this thread would seem to indicate no progress on either a new map to JB or a map on the TOP site. Feel free to disabuse me.

if Joe has anything, he's hiding it...

My guess is that Himself feels he needs to edit anything that goes to Joe, and simply doesn't have the time.

I'm hoping to bump into His Weberness next weekend at Albacon. I'll give him a kick, if I do see him.

I would also contribute towards a new map. Maybe something online that can be updated at need by the community,so the author can not be too overworked?
