None of the descriptions I just looked at make it clear, but people do tend to include tails when describing the size of a big predator. Also, 'pumas aren't arboreals, so their tail length is almost certainly proportionately shorter than a 'cat's would be. That should still leave them with bodies in the 3m range.

Figure them as the orangutan or gorilla of Sphinx, although with a 40x mass advantage instead of the 2-8x the big primates have over us.

And Hexapumas appear to be about 5 meters long (though I'm sure that includes a fair length of tail; and they're much lankier creatures than something like a bear).

Glad you found the weight reference. I'd missed it when I did a quick search, but did find the length description

Ok, on hexapumas.

Hexapumas weighed depending on sub species and sex 600-800kg with some reaching 900kg.

That means they are as large or larger than earth's Kodiak or Polar Bear which are earth's largest land predators

If you don't mind, I'd like to take a little survey. We all know that the movie was slated to encompass the Honor of the Queen. Which is fine had it happened. But were you satisfied with that decision? Is that the one story in the series, if there was only to be one, that you would desire to see onscreen?

I can't make up my mind. As a read, OBS is my favorite, hands down. But the tech in the later reads would be cool to see onscreen, as well as a lot of the later subject matter and battles. I think I'd ultimately choose a particular story in the series for a particular battle or battles.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

it is hard to say.

as you rightly said OBS is a great read but compared to some of the huge battles latter on SVW or FiE it is very small scale.

maybe it is just me but i'd kind of like her first film/series start when she leaves for Sag Island. various flash back in fist couple of ep where we see her talk to dada bout going navy and her parents support, then one of of meeting nimitz (hell that could be an entire episode by itself). meeting Mike henke, getting into trouble with mike henke. buzzing the regatta! her first meeting with pavel young and later his beating.

all that would probably be season 1.

season 2 starts with her Middy cruise and end when she is promoted to Lt Com.

season 3 her time as Lt comm is still fairly vague. the ONLY thing we have definite is her time as XO on Broadsword, so we get to see the disaster on gryphon where we first met susan hibson (time wise). she probably had command of her LAC at this point as well. might have to include her timer as captain of Hawkwing to fill out this season.

Season 4 will be OBS and tHotQ, maybe SVW as well, yeah end that season with honor taken assh*** young back for trial.

season 5 start with FoD, add if FiE and HaE

and so on. you get the idea. might be able to compress it more but 2/3 books a season seems to be the most i'd think you could squeeze in without losing the core
