I see the Church coming up with a paddle boat idea. They learned how to fix metal to the ship frame with the iron clads they took, they have the idea of how a steam engine works from the Sidamark debacle, and Charis is way past the need for paddle boats with the propellers they have. It would be easy for church to say it is the water mill in reverse, see the work is done by the steam to turn the wheel and push the boat.

Unlikely anyone would bother. They already have propellers on the galleys. Replacing the cranksmen with an engine would be a no-brainer. Not even patentable.

Who knows, Don could pay for a competent spell checker. He should be able to find a Nepalese 8-year-old who could do the job very nicely.

You let her read the books, and tell her to check all your posts.

I have to admit that I'm not sure how you'd carry her around, though: she wouldn't really fit in your pocket, and even in South Dakota people would look at you rather strangely...

Nice thing about the LG interface is that they assume that what you type is what you meant to type. When the phone decides that you probably _shouldn't_ have meant to type it, it will offer a [usually correct] alternative, but it never just plugs it in for you.

I'll admit that I do like this thing and I am catching on to how it works. But it does drive me nuts sometimes.

About that 8 year old Nepali, if I agree to feed, clothe and educate him, maybe he will do some proofing for me...
