And *also* faked the videos. Edited them out of context, inserted footage that wasn't even from planned parenthood and presented it as if it was, and generally put on an entire production designed to manufacture the false impression that illegal activity was occurring which was. not. occurring.

But by all means, keep your head buried in the sand and cling to the fantasy that this guy did some kind of real journalistic reporting that exposed the deep dark secrets of PP.

Oh cut the crap...each side is trying to say their right and putting out viewpoints. Do you really think PP is doing this for free or are they trying to make money on abortions or killing babies in my view.

They are trying to make money!

I have already acknowledged that Roe vs Wade is here to stay. The state governments have the legal right to put good health regulations on abortion providers until the Supreme Court rules on that issue. After viewing the potential baby on a sonogram their should be 3 day cooling off period before having an abortion.

They are trying to money!

Oh FFS. Of course they are making money, if we are speaking of that in the sense that they charge the necessary funds to cover the services they provide.

The claim however was that they were illegally selling fetal tissue. They were not. Period. Almost a DOZEN fucking investigations, pretty much all driven by Republicans, have all agreed on that since these idiotic videos came out and in the course of those investigations it was solidly established that the videos were deceptively manufactured.

That is not a "viewpoint". Those are the facts. Not that I expect you to do anything but continue living in denial of them.

My guess that the charges against the pro-life are dismissed. Why is that? The reason is pro-life can subpoena all sorts of documents and ask really interesting questions of executives at PP. Care to make a friendly bet on what happens!

Actually my bet is they PP says here's the Documents and the defense will try to twist them into something they aren't and lose. Just like their performance so far.

Lets keep in mind their latest defense seems to be "We used a legitimate tool to investigate what was happening." Unfortunately it all falls apart when people actually review the video and find, like everyone else has, that they deliberately and repeatedly lied about the results of their investigation.

It is one thing to hide your identity to investigate a crime and find nothing leading you to drop the investigation. It is something entirely different from finding nothing and making shit up when you find nothing to falsely push your dogmatic agenda.

What part of PP being the ones who filed the lawsuit are you not processing here?

If you were right about them not wanting it to go to ourt they wouldn't be taking it to court themselves.

I have no idea whether Texas will pursue the criminal charges, it would probably not be politically expedient for them to jail these doofuses considering their delusional conservative fan base so maybe they'll weasel around a bit and then drop those... which is something PP will essentially have no say in... but there is no way PP will drop the civil case.

There was a SF story about a technical type who managed to arrange a situation where everyone had a light planted in the middle of their forehead. It lit up when they lied. Then there are the lie detectors in H. Beam Piper's Federation series. Etc.

If anyone wants evidence that much SF is really fantasy . . .. Sigh.

Someone once noted that while it is not possible to tell when a politician is lying, searching their voting records will sometimes tell when they are detached from reality.

Does anyone remember the state legislature which passed a law mandating that the mathematical pi ratio would be 3.000 :?:
:!:

OTOH
“The videos will be – finally -- examined in a court of law for veracity.

I still like the fantasy of really trustworthy lie detectors and courts that use them.

HBP was a really good writer, and like DW, knew quite a bit of history.

My recollection is that Alabama missed by one vote from declaring that pi=3.0

Well according to snopes that was debunked.

http://www.snopes.com/media/notnews/pi.asp

[edit]Though in 1897 Indiana had some kind of like bill defeated. According to wiki, another one of them questionable sources.(meant to include this originally , [edit]

Really have no memory of that one. Not worth really investigating take snopes and move along.

Sort of like that Alabama city council meeting and solar energy. One idiot, citizen says something ignorant. That is the story not the plain and simple economics not being there to build something.

Though a politicians connection to reality is always questionable. My representative to Congress. He tried to introduce a bill on the federal debt. If the Federal Government owes a debt to the SSA then it isn't really a debt. After all it isn't a debt when you owe money to yourself. RIGHT.

He was a Democrat which really isn't important to the discussion if a Republican said the same thing I would remember it and point out the stupidity.

Why could he get away with it? Well he has run more or less unopposed since he was elected. I have trouble voting casting a protest vote for the nuts who run against him. Still do it but they are as silly as he is.
