Personally I think Dr. Herlander Simões should be put under heavy hypnosis to access memories he may not know is there.

The GA could still lose him in a latent programmed suicide.

Surely the Honorverse has true psychics -- those unexplained talents tapped and set free by evolution with all of the genetic tampering and manipulation.

I haven't gotten that impression. Consider that except for grav transmissions, communications are still limited to the speed of light. Since light-speed communication is carried by light waves, and radio waves are simply long wavelength light waves, I would expect that radio is still used (especially for skinsuit and handheld communicators). Also RADAR (RAdio Detection And Ranging) is still used by ships (both civilian and military) in the Honorverse.

You missed the bit, there are hundreds if not thousands of habitats and such in Silesia, and they are extremely hard to detect.

Also, does Honorverse even still use RF radios? Isn't there something in one or another of the books that basically implies RF is so antique, nobody in their right mind uses it?


I'm not saying a quick scan will tell you where the habitats are, only whether there's something in the area. (And that's assuming they have a suitable detector. Since it's not something they normally need to know they might not have such equipment.)

As for using radio--they're using lightspeed communications of some kind. The frequency and encoding might vary but it pretty much has to be some sort of radio.

I think they were going to go take out Mesa (except Mike seems to have beaten them to the punch) and then hope to dig up clues or trails from there. But it's not, AFAIK, something RFC has discussed, so we just have speculation.

The Andermani weren't supposed to be turning over rocks looking for the MAlign. They were being held out to take out Mesa and ask some pointed questions to see if they could find the MAlign there. They really didn't like the assassination attempt on the Crown Prince.

Actually it was more about going after Manpower, now revealed as the main MAlignment front proxy and general galactic level stain that quite a few star nations would like to see squashed. Honor when speaking to Rabenstrange pretty much stated that Elizabeth wouldn't want anyone but Manticore going after Mesa itself, which Henke has gone and done for her anyway.

That doesn't mean the Andermani will be standing back. While Manticore and Haven get to work on propping each other up and confronting the Sollies, i suspect the IAN will be given hunting licenses to go after any Manpower related issues anywhere they can find it. This would give the Andermani a chance to shine in few chapters and battles and do what they seem to do quite well, come to aid of those in need, even if that need is only to be rid of the slave trade.
