At the Sign of Triumph is officially listed on Amazon.com! The publication date is currently given as October 4, 2016, with pre-orders already available.

However, so far as I know we haven't yet gotten any confirmation of any of this from RFC, so no doubt all of this is still subject to change.

thanks for that :-)

Also on amazon.co.uk - no notes on either.

Now - of course the real question is not the title, but the date - perhaps that's going to actually be 2017 or maybe 2018 :-(

last anyone heard from RFC he was barely through the first draft (if that) of the next honor book. I highly doubt given that he has said that that is his current focus that he has had the time to run up even a first draft of the next safehold.

I think that publication date will be pushed back.

even RFC will likely struggle to finish writing the next HH and safehold and get them both off to their publishers in enough time for editing and then revisions etc and still make that october date.

there was also some talk about the next war good book before the next safehold. though I believe that to be merely fan speculation and not anything said by RFC

Just ordered my copy. Hope against experience that it doesn't get pushed back like HFQ. I can just see RFC/MWW with an evil grin on his face  thinking about all the torture he can inflict on his fans in the meantime. Oh well, what else can an addict do when his pusher can't deliver the preferred juice? (Buy the other products he is offering, what else.)

It's not impossible - if Tor knows from the start that they're working with a short turn around they can schedule production properly. It's when the turn-in slips behind schedule that things get bollixed up.

OTOH, this looks to me more like it's the publication date planned when the contract for the book was originally signed, what? 4-5 years ago. Slippage to as late as March shouldn't be a surprise.

On the Gripping Hand, Tor knows its a really bad idea to announce dates that are consistently missed. Their customers don't like it. [remember, you are _not_ Tor's customer!]
