According to a recent bombshell from the Washington Post, the police and the entire executive branch of government seize billions of dollars a year from citizens, without any shred of due process or proof that a crime has been committed! The total unconstitutional police seizures now exceed $4.5 billion per year, more than all burglary offenses. This means that the police are now seizing more assets than the criminals!

How widespread is this invasion of civil liberties? The total unconstitutional police seizures now exceed $4.5 billion per year. By comparison, according to the FBI, the total amount of goods stolen by criminals in 2014 burglary offenses was $3.9 billion. This means that the police are now taking more assets than the criminals!

Pretty much related to the war on drugs, Patriot Act and money laundering to the best of my sketchy knowledge.

One of the ex-lawyers on Baen's Bar was pretty worked up about it as he is now a poker player for a living in Las Vegas. He lost a lot of money due to this. Lots of cash limited paper work.

Fourth Amendment is pretty thread bare.

The more I look at the "Wars" for social causes and their detrimental effect on our legal system the more enough for me to say, "we fought, we lost."

Which is not a "good" answer just the least bad, IMO.

This is a watchdog organization called the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE).

If parents and donors start checking out intolerant colleges and universities before deciding where to send their money, the caving in to indoctrinating professors and storm trooper students will no longer be the path of least resistance for academic administrators.

The FIRE group publishes a rating on college's freedom of speech. The article points out that intolerance for disagreements does nothing to further real education.

We can always vote with our money, and the elite would need to resort to very strong arm tactics to stop us.
