Do they have something like Christmas et al in Safehold?

Can't remember reading anything about it but I find it hard to believe that Langhorne would ditch it.

Safehold has an annual Celebration called "Sunday". It's possible it has elements of gift-giving associated with it.

They have two religious days, IIRC the first is Gods Day which is the CoGA equivalent of Easter and Passover and is an unnumbered day in July. The second is I think Mid-winters Day which is probably equivalent to Christmas.

Thanks, I couldn't find a reference to "Sunday" but I did find the reference to "God's Day".

Didn't remember the "Mid-Winter Day". :)

From Off Armageddon Reef (OAR pg 789 Index)
The extra day in each year is inserted into the middle of the month of July, but is not numbered. It is referred to as “God’s Day” and is the high holy day of the Church of God Awaiting.
And here from How Firm a Foundation (HFaF pg 345);
God’s Day—the unnumbered extra day inserted into every year in the middle of the month of July—was the great high holy day of the Church of God Awaiting. Every month had its religious holidays, its saints’ days, its liturgical observances, but this day, God’s Day, was set aside above all others for the contemplation of one’s soul and the state of God’s plan for all humanity. It was a day of solemn celebration, of joyous hymns, as well as a day on which gifts were exchanged, children were baptized, weddings were celebrated, and the praise and gratitude of the entire world ascended to the throne of God.
So this appears to be the equivalent. Of course, since Tellesburg is in the southern hemisphere, July is in their winter (minimally). I came across an Australian site talking about bikini weather on Christmas - somewhat jarring!

For me, I came across the "Flash Chorus" of Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" on You Tube and thought of it missing on Safehold. I then found an excellent 'Flash' of Beethoven's 9th (last movement) very well done in a Spain town square. When the "Great Reveal" is done, imagine that revelation from Owl's archives! :o

Thanks to those who provided the links to the above. Now I have another for your Christmas enjoyment. The US Air Force Band and Chorus doing a flash performance at the atrium of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum - "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and "Joy to the World"! Enjoy & Merry Christmas! :D

Nor do I. Could someone post textev for it, please? Totally unsurprised there is a mid-winter festival in a pre-electric, agricultural civilisation on a cold planet; it's probably a prerequisite for maintaining morale and sanity, but can't recall reading about it.

Of course, "Mid-Winter Day" might be just local observation and be different depending on which side of the equator the settlement is on.

Safehold was settled by the "Archangels" on both sides of the equator.

"Mid-Winter Day" in Southern Howard would be High Summer in Zion. :)
