Imagine some force opposed to Clyntahn, be it Allied forces, a CoGA internal revolt, or Merlin and Nynian in person (unlikely) are in the Temple at his door, and Clyntahn hears the sound of the device used to force open doors in the Temple... What will he do? He does not strike me as the type to grab a sword or a heretical pistol and go out fighting. I also suspect that if that happens, it will be preceded by all of his supporters fleeing, and he will be alone.

Mind you, if there is a self-destruct for the Temple he can access, he may try to use it. Or something that triggers the 1000 year return. I can see DW's parting shot / cliff hanger for the next book being an indication that the return has started.

And BTW, I think that Chihiro may be the psycho behind the book of Schuler and the destruction of the Alexandria enclave. Based on the hints so far, and Schuler's appearance in the key's video, I have a suspicion that Schuler wasn't as evil a person as indicated.

Hmmn!! Suicide, or a clone's suicide while Clynthan hides in a bunker that he thinks contains life support and supplies to last him for years. Little does he know that the food has been used to help feed the poor and all that is left is lard and butter.
And I can see their Writ having passages added by Chihiro and attributed to Schuler to support certain programs.

Apologies for dodgy spellings. I only have the audiobooks.

I think another possibility exists. A big point about Nahmann's revelations from St Kody's journal are those about Schuler. Even though he had good reason for doubts, Kody still trusted Schuler. That fits with the Wilshann's view of Schuler. Remember the Book of Schuler isn't in the pre-Armageddon Reef Holy Writ.

I'm guessing the real villain was Chihero. He probably killed Kody and Schuler, wrote the hideous 'Book of Schuler' to get even with him, as well as his own book.

Don't forget the Key of Schuler! It could be that the 'real Schuler' will return at an auspicious time, when the key is used. Or really his PICA will awake. How could any Schulerite refuse to obey him? It may even be him that kills or, better yet dethrones Clyntahn. Now that would be really appropriate!

Who knows what our glorious leader RFC is planning? But I think he has set the stage for the idea above.

I think that a really good hologram would make a good "return" image...

I am fairly sure that Allayn will off him as he is the one who is in charge of the army and I can just see him getting rid of Clythahn if he tries to take over the army.

I would say a heart attack but the rages that he has flown into so far have not offed him so I am sad to say I doubt his rage will be the end of him as if it was going to do that it would have happened already.

Suicide. Apoplexy comes a close second, but I think he'll choose the coward's way out when things finally crash down around him.

I tend to agree that Chihiro is the author of the book of Schueler and that he offed both Kody and possibly Schueler. It is interesting that Chihiro has 2 distinct branches Quill & Sword and I bet that the sword came about during the War of the Fallen.

Duchairn might kill Clyntahn but the list of possible ends for Clyntahn are too numerous; my favourite would be for him to find out the truth in that the Church is a sham - that would kill him on all fronts.
While Duchairn is being set up as a possible 'saint' I still think he needs to be held accountable for his compliance with the whole war and atrocities that have occurred.
Dychairn himself (in text) has admitted he should have done something originally but instead let himself go with how the CoGA had been doing business for the last 500 years. This is when it changed the core tenant of its own writ in the relationship between Man and God in that the Church would dictate how this was to happen, not Man making his own free-willed choice.
For me Duchairn is just as guilty as Clyntahn for the atrocities committed in the name of God just as much as Clyntahn is. While it would be justice on the one hand for him to kill Clyntahn IMO I would love both of them to face true justice and the truth.

I had been leaning towards Helm Cleaver taking care of the bastard but lately have come to think that the only fitting end is for Merlin to wake him up like he did the King of Tarot and rid humanity of such corruption but to do this in her 'natural' appearance as a tribute to the friends she lost before she woke in the cave.

How about creative inaction when he has a stroke/heart attack similar to how Stalin is reputed to have died.

For me the real question is how long Ryano lasts once Clyntahn kicks the bucket. My thinking is "not long" these Beria/Himmler types don't survive once thier patron moves on.

I like your thought process. I do worry a bit about possibly making him a martyr, but OTOH I doubt if he truly has any or enough real friends left. It would only be somebody like Rayno to try to capitalize on his death in a cynical way to preserve power. (Those Inquisitors who enjoy the torture etc would probably back that.)

Anything is possible, but IMO he needs to die a more public and humiliating death than a stroke or heart attack. Plus we've already had one guy go that route so would RFC use that again? No, I think he's got something truly spectacular in mind for our friend Clyntahn. I can hardly wait to see what it is.

I don't really agree about the culpability of Duchairn. There are many instances where Clyntahn deceived the others of Go4. Duchairn wants to stop him but realises the guards are all Schulerites. If anyone truly shares responsibility it must be Tranair. Of course they all share responsibility but no one comes close to Clyntahn. IMHO
