In the interregnum, waiting for the smallest hint for the next book, rereading what has gone before, comes questions that may have been already asked.

Taken from "By Schism Rent Asunder" (BSRA) pages 167 & 169 - Archbishop of Charis (defrocked) Erayk Dynnys.

He reached the end of the Book of Chihiro. By ancient tradition, there was always a blank page between Chihiro and the beginning of Hastings, but there was no blank page in Dynnys' copy of the Writ. Not anymore, at any rate.

He ran an index finger down the gutter between printed pages, feeling the raggedness where a single unprinted page had been removed, then drew a deep breath and closed the book once again.

And in that recognition, he'd realized there were, indeed, two letters he needed delivered. Two letters no Inquisitor could ever be permitted to see. And so, he'd found his notepaper in the Writ itself. :o

So, has this already been brought forward? And if so, how was it answered? Half sheets? One can write very small when one has an incentive! ;)

He probably just tore it in half.

I think Charybdis's question is, "who got the second letter?" I'm pretty sure Ahdymsyn and Wylsynn got one. Did Duchairn get the other one? Or did Ahdymsyn get one and Wylsynn the other?

Well spotted! That Fits the fact that the Book of Schuler and probably Chihero, wasn't in the pre-Armageddon Reef Holy Writ.

I think a big point about Nahmann's revelations from St Kody's journal are those about Schuler. Even though he had good reason for doubts, he still trusted Schuler. That fits with the Wylsynn's view of Schuler.

I'm guessing the real villain is Chihero. He probably killed Khody and Schuler, wrote the 'Book of Schuler' as well as his own and added them to the writ.

Don't forget the Key of Schuler! It could be that the 'real Schuler' will return at an auspicious time. Or rather his PICA will awaken. How could any Schulerite refuse to obey him? It may even be him that kills Clyntahn. Or better yet he could remove him from office. Now that would be really appropriate!

My take on this subject is that MTAT is fairly clear that Arch Bishop Eric's (spelling?) wife got one letter and his Bishop Executor and Intendant (thank you again RFC for the impossible spellings of Safehold names  ) jointly got the other.

Archbishop of Charis (defrocked CoGA) Erayk Dynnys. As opposed to Grand Vicar Erek XVII CoGA - Pronunciation guide perhaps?!? I do think that MWW/RFC is a bit chagrinned over this, or at least that is what I have heard. Without computer assistance, keeping track of these names would probably be impossible!

We do know about Bishop Executor Zherald Ahdymsyn & Intendant Paityr Wylsynn got their 'deathbed' letter from Archbishop Erayk (BSRA) BUT in "A Mighty Fortress" (AMF pg 185), Bishop Ahdymsyn informs Corisande Archbishop Klairmant Gairlyng of the following;
“But then we learned in Tellesberg what had happened to the Archbishop,” he said flatly. “More than that, I received a letter from him— one he managed to have smuggled out before his execution.” Gairlyng’s eyes widened, and Ahdymsyn nodded. “It was written on a blank page he’d taken from a copy of the Holy Writ, Your Eminence,” he said softly. “I found that remarkably symbolic, under the circumstances. And in it, he told me his arrest— his trial and his conviction— had brought him face-to-face with the truth … and that he hadn’t liked what he’d seen. It was a brief letter. He had only the single sheet of paper, and I think he was writing in haste, lest one of his guards surprise him at the task."
So 2 letters but one sheet - a miracle?

(Tongue in check) A miracle? It depends on whether it was a short note or a full bore epistle...

Not saying you are wrong BUT no mention of 1/2 page or torn page - just says "a blank page". Not saying that it would be logical to say that ... :?

But our Author, the Mad Wizard Webber (aka MWW), has been known to make such things important later on. Remember the Ellipses! Just saying ...

One other possibility. Books such as the Writ probably are printed in multiple sizes, and those in the temple are likely to be the larger formats. While Langhorne probably got rid of metric paper sizes, you can tear a US Ledger size paper in half to get two US Letter sized sheets.
