So, there is already a thread about the next Honorverse book, which DW is siad to be working on, but this thread is to root for the folks you want to see in it, people that have been in earlier books but we haven't seen in awhile.
I mean, there are some we know we will see again (yes rose, we know that Shannon will be in the book). I mean folks who haven't been sighted for the last 4-8 books, who we remember well and want to catch up with. So here is my list: Admiral Sarnow: He's been off working in Silesia, in effect having been 'Stilwelled" (see below) ever since his performance in The Short Victorious War, and I for one want to see a man of his tactical and strategic knowledge out there on the front lines, dammit! Carson Clinkscales: We have from House of Steel that he was a ship commander just prior to First Manticore, and it would be nice to see Commordore Clinkscales in command of a squadron of Grayson BC's under Honor...or Sarnow...or Yanakov...just get him in the action. Sally McBride: Last seen on HMS Minotaur in Echos of Honor, I wonder if she is still a Bosun or has went maverick and is now an officer. Either way, she is still putting the boot to miscreants of any stripe. Iris Babcock: Yes, I know House of Steel shows her as the CSM at Saganami Island, but wouldn't it be nice if she got an assignment as CSM with BG Susan Hibson out Talbott way? To double-check on that husband of hers? Anyway, that's who I want to see. How about you folks? ***********************************************

I think you stole most of my list.
Samuel Webster. last screen time was in HH6 (honour among enemies) though i think there was an offhand mention in Ashes of victory when honor was listing all the people she had trained and was sending off in buttercup Warner Caslet, Harriet Bensen, basically the hell escapees. we know most of them are in the Protectors Own but the protectors own hasn't had real screen time since War of honor. |

I'd like to see our loveable couple Gwen Archer <=> Helga Boltitz get married and get a room already.
Where in the world err Honorverse is Georgia Sakristos? And I'd like to see the lovely Dame Estelle Matsuko again. And nearly everyone on Torch. Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |

I do that now and then...
Yeah, I can support that.
Don't know how much action the MWW is planning to cram into the book, but I'd like to see the Protector's Own myself. ***********************************************

True, but we saw them in Shadows of Freedom (albeit for a short time) and it depends on if that area becomes a bit of a backwater to the conflict, since Mike Henke is not standing on the defensive anymore.
Either dead (the Ballroom really wants her dead) or hiding very quietly on a planet neither you or I have heard of...yet.
Well, they did play a role in Cauldron of Ghosts, but it depends on how important the Torch wormhole is to the overall story (and it just might be...) ***********************************************

I think it's a given that anyone who hasn't died and has featured in the last four or five novels will show up again.
So I'm going all the way back to book number three for the last mention of this character, who was also in book number one(but not two). Arlene Wolversham. |

Reading between the lines, I think that during one of Detweiler's meetings with Aldona Anisimovna, or Isabel Bardasano (or both), they mentioned the loose end of their source inside High Ridge's government being taken care of. .... or thinking about it, I might be confusing Georgia with Elaine Descroix. Either way, both are either already dead, or in the process of being hunted down by assassins, whether Ballroom or Mesan. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was Descroix whom was 'deleted'.
I think I posted on another thread some time ago that on some random farming planet there is a woman happily married to a prosperous farming magnate, with a 14 month old daughter and a son on the way, who always looks a bit concerned when the occasional passenger ship drops off a new arrival or a crewman from a freighter deserts...doubt we will ever know--it's a big universe. ***********************************************

I want my Graysons back! Warner Caslet, Judah Yanakov, Mark Brentworth, Alfredo Yu - bring them back please!
Also more of Ninon Bourchier, badass Havenite senator. And Leslie Montreau. Allen Higgins, Mark Sarnow, Yancey Parks, Tomas Ramirez, Paulo D'Arezzo, Sonja Hemphill. And of course, if Javier happened to turn back up alive... well. ~*~

I kept forgetting to explain my "Stilwelled" comment in the OP (albeit I think most if not all of you got the reference). Just to be complete...
General Joseph "Vinegar Joe" Stilwell was one of the leading military leaders pre-WWII for the American Army, and was targeted for a major role in the war. He ended up the commander of the CBI (China-Burma-India) region, with very few troops, an impossibly torturous supply line, and allies (Chaing Kai Shek and General Chennalut) that cause him almost as much trouble as the Japanese. But he perserved and managed to do about as good a job as anyone could have in that circumstance. But the stress probably helped lead to his death in 1946. So I think you can see why I contrasted it with Sarnow, albeit i think he is getting much more attention and support than Joe Stilwell ever got. But he has been off the main screen for too long, Weber!! I also highly recommend Barbara Tuchman's "Stilwell and the Americna Experience in China" to anyone interested in that campaign. Heck, I pretty much recommend anything written by Tuchman. ***********************************************
