Hey All,

First of all first time poster to these forums, long time fan of the honorverse series.

I am just wondering if there is going to be a book 14 in the main series leading off from A Rising Thunder. I am an avid fan of the main series where the storyline follows Honor herself and am hoping for a new book which continues on with Honor, the Star Empire, and the Republic of Haven battling against the mesan alignment and the solarian league.

Thanks

Duckk keeps threatening to post a sticky about this.

There will be a sequel, but the separation into 3 sub-series is over, so it will merge everything. Timing is vague, I really doubt we will see an eARC this year as I don't think much is done. I kind of expect the book will be out in 2016, but I don't have an inside track.

Supposedly David intends to bring everything to a conclusion in 2 (or is it 3) books, I just hope he doesn't have to have a barbecue scene to achieve it.

Ok, I should explain that. Steve Stirling wanted to put a 4th book in the "Island of the Sea of Time" trilogy and the publisher refused it. So he had the bad guy's security chief poison the entire inner circle at a big family barbecue. The End.

Maybe Honor, Theismann, et. al. will suddenly turn into werewolves who can sniff out Detweilers and the rest of the central onion!

I doubt Baen would do that.

While i know every Writer (barring self published) are at the whims of their publisher, RFC has to be one of their top 3 sellers and i doubt they would do things that would make it likely for him to try and change publisher.

Agreed, soo unlikely. What's more probable is:

DW: This story is taking too long. I need to split it into two books.
Baen: Great! Send us the first draft of the first book in this set. We'll expect the second book whenever.

There's precedent for that, after all. ;)

Last night I listened an interview with RFC on last week’s BAEN pod cast. Near the end of the interview RFC stated that he has a goal of completing the Honor Harington saga and have the last main line Honorverse book done by April 2018. That is the 25th anniversary of OBS.

He also planned to complete the whole series in eight books.

Oh, is that what happened to the Island of Time series? I really enjoyed that series, but I've never heard that story about why it ended so abruptly. It's a shame, it was a great series and I would have really enjoyed a 4th book.
