I second the ranier war story. I also would read a story the about the plague. But number one list of what I wish to read about the honorverse, would be the grayson civil war.

First, our manners. Welcome aboard. It is customary to offer a beer. So have one on us. Chips are extra at present, it's the lack of goods as a result of Lacoon II, you see. lol

Yea, the Ranier story does hold much potential, especially having Saganami as a bonus.

And I second your Grayson civil war, I said many turns of the moon of posts ago that amongst many things associated with, I'd like to witness first hand the bullet holes in the big door to Protector's Palace.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

A story I would like to read is in the same vein as Changer of Worlds. Namely Sorrow Singer's survival and trek across Sphinx and meeting with Bright Water Clan.

That we hope is going to be the House of Shadows book that will be one of the sequels to House of Steel. Hopefully one of its chapters/sections will have a short story from Leonard Deitweilers point of view.

My private thoughts are that it will demonstrate that Leonard really was a genuine idealist who desired to improve the whole human race, and prove just how far the Mesan Alignment has fallen from his goals. (Or maybe even that in the end before he died, he regretted setting what would become the Alignment in motion.... Unlikely i know, but would make for a fascinating plot twist).

Reading this brings to mind the old saying...

I know this has been mentioned before but I would like to see some stories about Edward Saganami & both the Ranier War & the Battle of Carson. I would also like to see ones about the aftermath when Queen Adrienne decides to raise the stakes by sending in the First Battle Squadron.

I would like to see the story of the survey ship that took that first trip through the MWJ to Beowulf and the reactions of the Manticorans when they realized they had just hit the jackpot.

I would also like to read a 1st contact story where a sleeper ship colony that has been out of touch for a few centuries gets rediscovered.

Also, I would not mind knowing who King David is and what happened to Crown Princess Sophie.

I would also love a story where the main character is a descendant of Steve Westman.

I think we will eventually get the story of the discovery and the initial exploration of the Junction as part of the Manticore Ascendant series, currently up to the second book (of what initially was planned to be a 3 book trilogy, but is now projected out to 5 books).

I would like to read more about the adventures of the misfit agents John Mullins and Charles Gonzalvez that we read about in "Lets Go To Prague". I particularly liked the bit where Admiral Givens asks them " What in the ever living hells was going through what might, with leniency,be referred to as your mind?" :D

That sounds like a good story and a worthy one-liner to boot.

What about a chapter or two chronicling the (RHN and Andermani)'s first attempts at passing the Crusher and the hilarious laughter discreetly permeating RMN staff and officers.

Shannon would have just pulled a Kirk and reprogrammed the darn thing...

Late note to StateSec goons -- Shannon also does not believe in a no win scenario. Think Shannon's somehow related to Kirk?

Two problems I see with the last part.

1: The Crusher is not the Kobyashi Maru, It is a training course with multiple simulations and I'm not certain there is a no-win scenario among them.

2: I think you are drastically underestimating the skill levels of any RHN and Andermani officers who are for whatever reason sent to the Crusher instead of their own service's counterpart programs, assuming that RHN and Andermani command training involves such a course.
