I have downloaded the Safehold map and use it while I am reading the stories. The complaint is that when I zoom in on the Gulf of Dohlar the names of the smaller islands are not readable. Also is there any plan on producing a complete map of Safehold as the west sides and east sides of the map do not match up meaning there are some land masses not shown.
Where can I find any planetary statistics on Safehold as in circumference and radius.
The scale on the map is a little confusing. Is the complete bar 1900 kms or is each colour section 1900km? It sometimes to me appears thatcsafehold is much larger than Earth.

If you're talking about the one at http://infodump.thefifthimperium.com/en ... ld/338/1...

hmmm... the names _were_ more readable than that... at a guess, the package isn't completely compatible with the current Flashplayer. What it's got to do with Flashplayer beats me, but I know that Chrome refuses to display it at all unless the very latest download is installed. There does seem to be an optimum zoom level for reading the different fonts, and they aren't rescaling correctly anymore.

As for map scale, IIRC we're supposed to ignore the bars and use the scale that was inserted in the Markovian Sea, just above "Markovian Sea".

It isn't obvious, but this map doesn't extend to the poles either, and in fact has different north and south extents. There may well never be a complete map of Safehold, since areas that don't figure in the action don't get mapped. Himself isn't likely to have the time to go back and fill in the missing 300,000,000 or so square km, particularly since a significant portion of it isn't empty ocean the way it is here.

AFAIK, Himself hasn't shared the exact stats for the planet. All he's ever said is 'smaller, but denser', and it doesn't really look like it's all that much of either. I'm not even sure that we have a spectral class for the star, although G7V is niggling at the back of my mind.

I think I saw a previous thread in this forum indicating a new map (interactive? zoomable? to better scale?) might become available after HFQ was released.

Whether my memory is accurate, or what the status is, if I remembered correctly, I don't know.

Your memory is accurate. The thought was that the publisher might make access to a better map available on a dedicated web site. So far as I know, nothing further has been done with the idea.

Still in the works. They didn't get the link into the book. As far as I know it aS a production glitch they plan to rectify.
