I'm thinking sometime in the fall. The real question is what year!

Dear Lord man, let the poor fellows word processor cool down a bit!
Our esteemed author has about six series he's juggling in the air and he has to get books out on them as well. Frankly I'm also waiting on the next mainline Honor book and I understand some of the folks on here are looking for yet other series to advance. Wonderful news for David's wallet to be so much in demand, but the man can only write so much at a time. (even Asimov was bound by that limit)
I haven't the slightest clue to his schedule but 'd be willing to bet it will be two years before we see another in the series.
Heck for all we know he might have ideas for other story lines that haven't yet seen the light of day, completely unrelated to anything he's written before! That kind of inspiration does hit authors now and then you know.

So give it some time. After all even George R.R. Martin hasn't finished his yet.

Bummer. But you're right of course in relation to giving the poor man a rest. I still hope it's not two years though.

Thanks again to all.

According to his post the other day, he's in the middle of an Honorverse novel right now.

The Road to Hell (Multiverse) is done and dusted and on Baen's future publishing list. He's in the middle of an Honorverse book. Next up would probably be the sequel to Sword of the South. I'm assuming the Honorverse is a mainline novel so there is also the next Manticore Ascendant book to do. I could hope that that was behind the next Safehold in the queue, in order to catch up some of the time slipped on HFQ, but I guess Timothy Zahn might have something to say about that. Oops, that could easily mean no writing time for Safehold until next spring, which might get us a book for Christmas 2016, but more likely 'early 2017'

I'm assuming the film project is on ice just now.
