Yes, "from the Highlands" my favorite short story in the Honorverse.

I guess my problem with the Flint stories is that although they're fun romps and introduce some great characters, I kind of think he's willing to have something happen that makes no sense in the Honorverse for a laugh (seriously, Havenite intelligence operatives not knowing what 'dollars' are when Manticore calls its currency 'dollars'?) or to advance the narrative he's going with.

The narrative is everything to communists. :P

But they are very good.

Service of the Sword is definitely my favorite but I love many of the others. Pretty much any focusing on Honor especially Ms. Midshipwoman Harrington, From the Highlands, Everything in Beginnings though I was disappointed by the lack of a Free Botherhood Conflict story. I hope Obligated Service gets a sequel. I also like A Grand Tour. I'm hoping maybe someday we will get a story about Rachel Mayhew's middy cruise since I've love so many of the middy cruise focused stories and can see a lot of interesting story chances there. Ooh and maybe her younger sister and Honor's namesake will follow her eldest sister's and her namesake's career path.

Not sure if I should put my two cents in, since I should get change back. I haven't read them all.

But I like "Promised Land" and "With One Stone."

Promised Land because those women are amazing, and I just loooove strong female characters. (Supergirl Oct. 26 and counting! lol)

With One Stone because of The Crippler. I like the idea of a very frightening, very powerful rogue weapon that may have shifted the balance of power.

Why haven't we heard more from the Sisterhood? In fact, there were many of them left behind on Grayson. Why hasn't the Sisterhood gone back to free them all, now that Masada is RMN controlled?

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Maybe they did there just wasn't a need to mention it in a story. Or maybe the members left behind made a beeline for the Manties as soon as the takeover was done.

Mine would be Nightfall. McQueen's coup, which should've been in Ashes of Victory.

Well, the Judith stories were Jane Linskold's, and other than those two her Honorverse work is limited to the Stephanie Harrington YA novels.

1) Fanatic
Victor Cachat. Nuff said.

2)With One Stone.
CHARLES!*shakes fist angrily*

3)An Act of War
See #2

4)Let's Go to Prague
The closest the Honorverse will get to is a "buddy-cop movie". Guest Staring Patricia Givens as the ANGRY "You do that again and I'll have your badge" Chief. This story has many great parts, and the ending is the most entertaining part(and checks off the final boxes for "buddy action comedy").

5)What Price Dreams?
Treecats. Nanontech.

6) Nightfall
If you have to ask why you have not read the story. For added effect, read through "Ashes of Victory", stop at the right chapter, read this story, and then resume.

7) From the Highlands
Cachat and Zilwicki on their first adventure "together".

8)A Whiff of Grapeshot
Citizen Admiral Clusterbomb.

9)By the Book
There are stories that are written for the various subsets of Honorverse fandom("Treecat Lovers","Tech Lovers","Haven fans",etc). This one is written for those of us who love the history of the Honorverse.

10)A Grand Tour
Lots of Hatred of this one and I understand it. A disjointed story that only feels remotely attached to the canon. So why do I like this story? In the way that some people like bad movies I guess.
