The store will open in 3 hours. Then I'll find out if they were right.

They were right - I just got it.

Checked my email this AM - got a message from my bookseller that they had tried to charge my account, but were unable to as the card had expired - ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!
Fortunately all they needed was the new expiry date. n Idiot proof system indeed! :(

I have complete faith in being one of the last people to receive the book. The big advantage of living well off the beaten path is glacially slow delivery of anything - I think for small items we can get two day (maybe three day) express delivery. But then again, no neighbors, and very little anthropogenic noise.

Went to my local BN today. They didn't have it, said it would cost about $27 in store, but only about $16 if ordered online. Problem is, shipping costs. If I want to get it a week later, I only pay about $4. If I want it by the 14th its another $15.

Showing up when BN opens on the 13th with my money in hand. Likely will also get the ebook at some point. The maps in the dead tree versions are easier to peruse, but the ebook will be near me always, like a beloved pet.

A five-day plus about 14 hours to go!

Mine cost me Cdn$21.40 online (including taxes), delivered to the store for free where I waltzed in and picked it up at 5:15 this evening. I didn't really get started reading it until around 9pm and am through the first 110 pages. Sometimes life is good.
