So, do any of you all in the know out there have any knowledge of how our esteemed author is doing? He hasn't been on the forum for 2 months now. (Last visit 2 Aug 2015)

If he is just busy whipping up our next literary fix, visiting cons, etc, wonderful. However some past abscesses have been attributed to major health issues in Himself or his family

Just hoping all is truly well in the celery patch!

He showed up in Washington DC for an event. Aside from that, he's been busy writing. David often disappears for months at a time when he's in the middle of a project.

Has he said what he's writing at the moment? A couple of months ago he threw out a Multiverse novel and the next HH novel, and I'd imagine he's still contractually obligated to keep pumping out Safehold books (IIRC it was an 8 book contract?)

On the one hand it's been ages since we had a fresh HH story, and we know we can get our hands on it shortly after it's turned in with an eARC. On the other hand, I'd cheer on the next Safehold having priority given the loooooooong publication queue it's got to slot into once it's finished.

And then there's Norfressa... too many stories, not enough author! I'm glad we've got one of the most prolific in the business.

RFC is blessed (or cursed, depending on who you want to look at it) with having several successful series going at the same time.

How he finds time to work on the 6 or so that are currently active (I'm counting the all secondary plot lines in the Honorverse separately) is an amazing feat unto itself.

He's got Safehold, the Multiverse, War God, and at least 3 in the Honorverse going plus that corroboration with John Ringo for a new Prince Roger book that's been hanging fire for a few years now (subtle hint, subtle hint).

The fact that he can consistently keep publishing a book a year in quite a few of them is a testament to his dedication when you add in that he has all that other stuff like having a home, family, eating, sleeping, having a life away from his word processor or computer, public appearances, the potential Honor movie/TV show, .... going on, too.

The fact that he's around here as much as he is surprises me.

And ..., he discovered that he had to do some re-writing
on the supposedly finished Multiverse book, R2H.

Hi Howard,

Do you know if this is going to impact the publishing date?

I don't know if Howard has beard anything more, but the only thing I have heard about is that RFC miscounted the number of battle dragons available to the Arcanans at the front and was going to have to sort it. This was pointed out to him around the end of May I don't know how much of a rewrite that was going to be but I wouldn't have thought it was a whole lot.

The publishing date is not till March so I wouldn't have expected any problems.

AFAICT that was still well within the editing phase when significant changes are not only permitted but expected. not that making them wouldn't have bollixed up his personal schedule, but it wouldn't affect Baen at all.

It might not affect the publishing date,
but it had a horrid effect on the Snippeting Dates.
