Quick and merciful, if he has to be executed.
Although the nasty part of me occasionally chimes in that his fate is best handled by committee and nominates Irys, Adorai and Ohlyvya to co-chair it. |

He could try to go underground. Between Nyvia's humint and Merlin's technical collection abilities he'd be lucky to last more than a few five-days.

What if the other bad guy kill the great inquisitor first ?
(the one who hold the forein office, forgot his name... ) He didn't want to be alone with the great inquisitor. So what if the ministry of finances collusion with the army chief lead to their demises. He would see it as selfdefense... (So would I)... Can I have a treecat RFC?

I'm kinda hoping that Thirsk ends up pulling a Theisman. "Goodbye Grand Inquisition".

As mutch as I would like to see that, I find it extremely difficult to pull off. The distances and travell opportunities are not the same. Can I have a treecat RFC?

There is no parallel here. Clyntahn is in the Temple Lands and Thirsk is in Dohlar. Don When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.

Right. I think we'd have to cast Duchairn or Magwair in that role. (Or, of course, forum favorite Major Phandys.) |

I would pay actual money (more than just for the book, I mean) if Rhobair Duchairn pulled a Theisman. He's just... I love him, okay? He's slightly misguided, but I find myself rooting for him anyway. If any one of the GoF deserves to extricate himself from that morass of vile awfulness and finally strike back, it's him. I just can't stop believing. ~*~

RD has all the makings of a tragic hero. He's got a tiger by the tail but didn't want it.
Don't you think, though, that the celery chaser is going to surprise us with how Clyntahn goes to his eternal reward? |

Clyntahn deserves a demise at least as satisfying as the inquisitor Vyktyr Tahrlsahn received at the hands of Merlin's executioner persona of Dialydd Mab.
“This is a Charisian midshipman’s dirk.” The level calm of the other man’s voice was the most dreadful thing Tahrlsahn had ever heard. “I brought it along for the occasion. I don’t know if you remember the names, but Gwylym Manthyr and Lainsair Svairsmahn were friends of mine.” Breath sobbed in Vyktyr Tahrlsahn’s nostrils and his eyes were huge, for he did recognize the first of those names. “Understand me, Priest,” that executioner voice said, “because for the first time in your life, you’re about to hear the truth. Your Langhorne was no ‘Archangel,’ just a lunatic, a liar, and a mass murderer. Your Schueler was a psychotic, your Church is nothing but an obscene lie, and you’ve helped torture and murder thousands in the name of a religion whatever God there truly is would spit upon.” Tahrlsahn’s brain whirled, whiplashed by terror and anguish. No. No! It was a lie. It had to be a lie—all of it! “Look at me, Priest.” Despite himself, Tahrlsahn obeyed, and squealed in horror as his captor’s sapphire eyes began to glow with hellish brightness. “I’m older than your Church,” the abomination behind those eyes told him. “I’m older than your Holy Writ. I was born, lived, and died before your first ancestor opened his eyes on this world, and I will personally destroy your Church. I will eradicate it from the face of the universe. Men and women will remember it only as what it truly was—a monstrous, perverted lie concocted by madmen who only thought they were gods. They’ll be known for what they truly were … and so will the butchers who served them. Think about that, Priest. Take that thought to Hell with you. Langhorne and Schueler are waiting for you there.” Tahrlsahn stared into those blazing blue eyes, then grunted in fresh, explosive agony as the dirk split his heart. The hilt’s cross guard slammed against his breastbone and fourteen inches of steel drove straight through his body. Five inches of that bloody blade protruded from the far side of the deckhouse wall, pinning him with his feet still off the deck, and that dreadful promise followed him into the darkness." THAT was a very satisfying end to a man whose soul was blackened beyond all redemption. Clyntahn is orders of magnitude more evil. He's also considerably fatter, so Dialydd Mab may need to bring a sword to impale him instead! Personally, I'd prefer impaling him on a short stick, which hurts worse, but the victim take hours and hours to die... "Oh bother", said Pooh as he glanced through the airlock window at the helmet he'd forgotten to wear. |
