I'm hoping that the next title WILL NOT BE "Hell's Triumph!", "Merlin's Ruin!" or "Langhorne's Trumpets!" Of course even reading HFQ (soon, oh so soon) will be insufficient to guess the next book name without reading MWW's mind or book submission.

That I am even venturing in this area is a clear sign of the dread "Safehold Deficient Snippet Disease" (SDSD) and/or that I need more blood in my caffeine circulatory system.

20 days and counting down to HFQ...

As for how long to next book, sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof... Besides I also think we are overdue for a mainstream novel in the honorverse.

The scuttlebutt was that RFC was considering "Yet saints their watch are keeping" as a working title for the next book - which would indicate that we'll finally find out what's under the Temple!

Dipping into a couple of old threads, here are some of the possible titles of future books based on the words of the hymns from which the titles in the series have been derived so far.

Just to prove that I made these guesses before HFQ was announced, here's the link to my original post: http://forums.davidweber.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3701&p=95017&hilit=titles#p95017

To save you having to click on the link, here's the post it points to:

Here were my guesses for LAMA and beyond way back when... before RFC added "Onward Christian Soldiers" to the hymns whose text he can use for future titles:

Possible Future Book Titles
With those whose rest is won (Final book?)
On the Land and the Sea
Led through the deathly waters (Armageddon Reef?)
Rivers of Woe
The meek and lowly (Shall inherit Terra?)
On high may dwell (Back to space)
Past the border mountains (Capture Zion!)
Against both foe or traitor
Yet saints their watch are keeping (What's under the Temple?)
At home and abroad
Thy deepest distress
Through the deep waters
Through fiery trials (Pick your war)

Of course RFC may just pick another hymn for books 7+ so all our speculation becomes worthless. ;)

Fun Titles We'll Probably Never See!
The great Church victorious*
The Church shall never perish!

*Depending on which church of course...

Possible NEW book titles with "Onward Christian Soldiers" added to the mix:
Marching as to War
Forward into Battle
At the sign of triumph
Hell's foundations quiver
CALLED IT!!!!
Loud your anthems raise
Moves the church of God
Where the saints have trod
(Archangels anyway)
We are not divided (Ooooooh!)
All one body we
One in hope and doctrine
Crowns and thrones may perish
(Yeek!)
Kingdoms rise and wane
This through countless ages
(Last book?)

So I was right with one of these guesses, and possibly two - we'll see once the next title is announced.

"Oh bother", said Pooh as he glanced through the airlock window at the helmet he'd forgotten to wear.

I respectfully request one final snippet to feed my addiction even though there are only 19 days until HFQ is released. My reason for this is that I regard the wide variety of topics being discussed in this forum as proof that snippet withdrawal is hiting almost all forum readers.

On a totally different topic (I implied that I also was suffering from snippet withdrawal). :P When it comes to titles for the next book I would like to nominate the following hymn titles:
"Will Your Anchor Hold"
"Fight the Good Fight"
"All Hail the Power"
"Rescue the Perishing"

While previously RFC has only taken Safehold series titles from hymns, I would like to suggest the following from the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner as potential future Safehold book titles:
"When Freeman Shall Stand" and "Then Conquer We Must."
