Has textev given the type of tree the treecats prefer to live in? Remember the tree in James Cameron's Avatar? His inspiration was drawn from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. I'd really like to go there. Road trip!

My wife and I are actually old enough to be grandparents, but after 8 years of marriage and neither of us having previous children, in March 2012 the we realized we were going to become parents come November (ended up with a beautiful little girl). Looking back at the last three years of raising this little person, neither of us look at at her as an accident or unplanned. Instead we look at her as an unexpected gift from both God & Buddha (I'm Christian & wife is Buddhist), which has become a huge influence and has filled a big hole in our lives. |

Congratulations! Sometimes the stork manages to really just get it right. I can much more appreciate "unexpected" to be an even lighter weight to bear of a child's shoulders. Of course, you do know that your name "Casey," means alert and watchful? So you should have seen the stork coming. lol I know this because I have several friends named Casey. Get this, a brother and sister both named Casey (though she is Kaci). And a couple who are both named Casey. Casey is a gender neutral name, though there are tons of spellings for it. So, for the million dollar question if I may ask... is your little girl named Casey as well, or one of the many variations of it? Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |

Does anyone know who both Sonja Hemphill and Shannon Foraker replaced in their fields?

Foraker's precedessors were probably a StateSec appointee during Saint-Just's brief chairmanship, assuming he bothered to fill the post, and before them, one of McQueen's own who died when the Octagon was blown up. As for BuWeaps, I don't know. One of the Space Lords was mentioned in passing as managing to subvert Janacek's policies, but he may have been BuShips. |

Admiral Low Delhi (Hemphill) would have replaced the Janacek appointee who replaced the Caparelli appointee who replaced Vice-Admiral Adcock. |

It depends on when you mean, and what you mean by "replaced". I'm not sure I would agree that either one "replaced" anyone in their fields. In Haven, there simply wasn't anyone doing the kind of innovative work that Shannon does. Shannon did replace someone as head of Bolthole, but I wouldn't call that replacing someone in her field. Bolthole was just a construction site before Shannon got there, not an R&D site. And if you are talking about Sonja's early work, she didn't replace anyone in her field either. She was one of the first people King Harold brought in for Project Gram. (You really need to read House of Steel.) There was no one to replace because, again, no one was doing that kind of work before. Subsequently, Sonja did replace several people in various positions, such as Head of BuWeaps and Commander of Grendelsbane. But I wouldn't call that replacing someone in her field, only in a position. Both Shannon and Sonja created their fields in their respective navies. --------------------------------------------

Yes, I really must read House of Steel. I had planned to grab a few reads before returning to work. We'll see. Regarding Sonja, I can accept that answer. But in Shannon's case, there must have been some one person or persons staying within shouting distance of Sonja thus staying within shouting distance of the RMN or it seems Sonja (RMN tech) would have rolled them over long ago before Shannon was... appropriated.
