Is the next forecast to be long? And I was also wondering how long you guys think this series will last. I checked one of David's old Q and A's, it was from years ago, and he says the series would be like nine or ten books long. I think it could go on for longer.
I'm very jealous all you guys will be able to buy this book right away, though. I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and you can't buy any of David's books in the main bookstores. You can only buy them from Forbidden Planet second hand.

David has indicated that there would be one or two more books in the current timeframe; I don't think he said whether that was counting HFQ or not. Then it would jump forward to the time of the Return. As I recall, he did not say how many stories that might be. He also indicated the hope of eventually having at least something about the resolution with the Gbaba but gave no guarantees. And, of course, none of this is written in stone--his plans have often changed over the course of time.

I can order it from Amazon UK, but there will be no delivery estimate. I'd rather just go into Waterstones and buy it, but oh well.
P and p for safehold books makes it dearer. Like I said, I live in Northern Ireland, so P and P is a little more than mainland UK. I'm still going to buy it from there obviously, but it's just another reason why I don't like living in Northern Ireland! I'll be going to Birmingham for uni next year though, so fingers crossed!
If HFQ is the second last book in the series, then I think some serious stuff must go down in it.
And thanks for the welcomes, guys.

I'll keep checking availability and post which stores show stock.

Any updates?

Bol.com, a Dutch online book store has a 1/10/15 release date for the hard cover and e-book.

If that holds true for once I'd have the book before everybody in the US has read and finished it.

Ooookay, I'm going to assume you're using the European DD/MM/YY date format there, cause otherwise you'd already be tantalizing all of us with what you've already known the last 9 months ....

Admit it. The countdown is just a clever way to pump up your number of posts.
