I've finally got my head above water, workwise, and I've been exploring the different routes to the eARCs. There seem to be a considerable number of routes to the eARCs available, with some differences between what I found, depending on how I got there. But clicking on your link gives reliably the most comprehensive list, and thank you very much indeed. I've bookmarked it.

;) :)

It's been almost 2 months since the last snippet and less than a month until the book's release. Will there be another before the book comes out? Any info on a digital edition for purchase? Should I just put in my pre-order on Amazon?

I think the odds are against there being another snippet now. Personally, I would not pre-order the book. You won't get it much if any quicker than you will if you wait and order it a day or so before it's published, and it might be issued earlier as an eARC.

I'm hoping an eARC will be available early, so that I can read a copy while I'm on holiday. If not, I'll have to wait until I get back, and when I do get back, I'm going to be busier than the proverbial one-armed fiddler. So I'm checking every day . . .

I would really prefer an ARC. Much easier to read at night on my iPad.

Curses! :( No, of course they don't. I'd completely forgotten that Baen doesn't publish Safehold.

But you shouldn't have to wait 6 months for the ebook. According to the Fantastic Fiction website
http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/w/david-weber/hells-foundations-quiver.htm
the Kindle version is available on October 13th, same as the hardback.

But I don't mind paying that price, same as I don't condone theft by knowingly buying WAREZ games. As the saying goes, "The labourer is worthy of his hire" and all that. And besides, if nobody pays for the games, then the programmers won't find it worth their while to write them, and everybody loses.

Tapadh leat/leibh!(?)

glad to see Tor in the 20th century, but still charging HB prices so I'll wait as usual until it drops to PB prices on principle

as usual w/Safehold I have a copy on hold at library
