He also has children and grandchildren. Although I don't think any of them have ever appeared "on screen" as it were.

Hi Rose Nice to see you here. He also has a cat-lizard - not sure if that is 'a good thing' to you or a source of deep misery and reprobation |

Henry, I deliberately didn't mention that snippet because it contains a big spoiler if Rose is only halfway through MTaT. I also deliberately left outcomes as open as possible. |

RFC seems to have a thing for cats and how they regard humans as the perfect accessories... |

RFC has an excellent grasp of the realities of the cat-human relationship. (Also I want a cat-lizard please and thank you.) ~*~

Midst Toil and Tribulation is the most trying of the series and a real tissue enabler.
LAMA is much more positive and HFQ looks even more uplifting. |

He does indeed Rose, if you haven't already found it, when you have finished the series you might want to look for 'How the safehold series won't end' in 'Pearls of Weber'. It is a great read. |

I was wondering when Rose would finaly read this.
Yes there are a ton of parallels between Theismen and Thrisk, although Thrisk has more then a bit to do to ever truly live up to that comparison. There is blood on his hands, the kind of which Charis is only willing to accept one form of payment. Theismen was very proactive about bringing down the evil he was surrounded with and making the galaxy a better place, Thrisk is very much making sure it isn't his family that is the Inquisition's next target. All alluding to spoilers aside, if you think you love Iris now, don't go anywhere, she gets even more awesome. |

Theisman was very lucky, and knew it, that he had no family under the CPS - which didn't have or try to have as much control over what Havenites thought was right or wrong as the Church of God Awaiting on Safehold has. Whatever comparisons we want to make between them have to start with Thirsk being in worse shoes that way. Heck, StateSec didn't treat people as badly as the COGA's inquisition does. Both Thirsk and Theisman had their POW's - taken under the assumption or hope of honorable treatment - taken out of their hands by fanatic brutes. Neither of them were in any effective position to stop it - and, for that matter, Thirsk managed to treat them as well as possible for as long as possible within his ability longer than Theisman was able to, while doing so at the risk of not just death but much worse treatment of himself and his family than Theisman would have suffered. I can't come down on either of them for not meeting their own responsibilities to prisoners, when they could not do so. Thirsk is and Theisman was in the bind of loyalty to a country in the hands of monsters, without having - yet - the means either to kick the monsters out or even serve that country solely within the bounds of pristine honor. |
