'Oh, oh' he said in English. Evidently, he had completely mastered that language. |

As a matter of fact, I've wondered about that for a while. When Mr Weber wrote Heirs of the Empire, did he perhaps think 'what a wonderful concept, let's write something similar and give it some flesh'? Not that I'm complaining, mind you. Personally, I think Safehold really expresses his skills and talent as a writer even more so than the Honorverse. |

probably, it is a setting filled with so many options.
I can see at least 3 different directions he could have taken that basic premise, i'm sure others can see more. |

...wait a minute. The Siddarmarkian Civil War is already destroying my soul, are you telling me it gets worse?? *looks worriedly at tissue stocks* Good thing I'm not planning an Honorverse re-read for awhile.... ~*~

There will be much crying. RFC gets kickbacks from the tissue companies. |

I didn't think it was *THAT* bad. At least not once LAMA actually came out and we could find out what happened. To me the worst part was the snippeting phase of LAMA. Cause RFC posted a cliff-hanger snippet about Hector. And then refused to elaborate any further. We had to wait months to find out his fate... |

You know that maikel staynair is already married (he is the bishop not the admiral right?), you are required to be married to become a bishop.

roseandheather,
Welcome! I've wondered why you weren't here, and now you are! I look forward to your progress thru the narrative, and your observations! Dan |

Now now Brigade, don't toy with poor Rose's feelings like that. Rose, don't pay attention. Maikel's been widowed these past ten years and more. |
