David looked good at LibertyCon a month ago, and he sounds good in this week's Baen podcast, so it's probably his schedule being highly impacted right now that's holding things up.

This current situation developed late last winter when his wife Sharon experienced some health issues and as a result of dealing with that and taking up slack where his family was concerned, he fell behind on his professional work. Between that and the number of cons he's attended, he's been under a lot of schedule pressure ever sinse. Then there was that business with the pacemaker earlier this summer. I'm afraid that the snippits got shuffled down the priority list. I agree that there seems a good reason for delegating that job, but the decision to do that belongs to the author which is something we all need to respect. Great to hear. Although it may not be the kind thing, there are several series that I selfishly want our beloved author to finish. Don't know what type of penitence I need to do to get my cosmic balance back. |

6 weeks to go. I'd almost rather not have any more snippets. Being the addict I am, I'd read any additional posted, but I'm ready to sit down and read it straight through now. I'm hoping he's half way thru the next Safehold book now.
I'm sure we'd have heard by now if something was amiss with DW's health. |

As for what he is working on, when he posted snippet 27 in early July, he mentioned he was starting the next Honorverse book. |

Nice, I forgot about that. I'm ready for more Honorverse too. Thanks for that reminder. |

I know, right? I'm also ready for the next Honorverse. And the next Safehold. And the next Multiverse. And the next Bahzell book. Not to mention that I would not mind sequels to In Fury Born, The Excalibur Alternative, and The Apocalypse Troll. Hmmm. It seems we need about 3 additional Weber clones to write these books in a timely fashion. |

I think at this point that we must presume we have seen our last snippet and move on. No doubt we were getting close to the new, main story lines of the book and our illustrious author decided we had quite enough of the free stuff. Tis fine. He needs to be getting on with other writing pursuits and Dr. Who will be starting soon, and it's not like there aren't other authors and books out there to read. Doesn't Eric Flint have one coming out soon? Lots of books on Amazon & Barnes&Noble to buy! I've shot my discretionary budget for August but come September my wife will pardon me a little more cash for the next round, and if the last ones were all on Server2012 well perhaps I can buy some lighter reading in the next round.
Cheers; Larry |

For all those asking when we're going to get more of HFQ, I've got one thing to say: Jim Butcher. We don't even have a release date for the next book yet (my wife's been asking) and the only hint we have gotten from the next book is the first friggin line. So stop whining, you'll have the full book in a couple of months.
That said, I more concerned about RFC than I am about HFQ. HFQ is finished, it only awaits publication at this point. RFC's health and Sharon's have both been sketchy for years. (And I'm holding firm to my prediction that Clyntahn will drop dead of sheer outrage from a Charisian victory. It's not unbelievable, given his lifestyle.) |

And how about Patrick Rothfus? We don't even know if he has started writing book 3 yet! --
