So, my kinda gal.

Now, given that this is me, obviously she is single until explicitly proven otherwise. (Not that that ever stopped me before, mind you. Threesomes are fun!)

Who do we pair her off with??

As a colleague, she could be a member of a seemingly innocuous looking trio of bridge players called the "movers&shakers" -- Estelle Matsuko, Cathy Montaigne and Senator Ninon Bourchier. I know for a fact the Senator is a hell raiser -- she gives my spell checker fits.

honestly given everything that happened on bassilisk and Honor's no doubt less then stellar performance review she might have just been told to resign. Told, not asked. I know being asked is the polite way of kicking them out but I doubt if they wanted her gone they would be poltie about it.

BuPers could have just left her on the beach on half-pay until she got bored and resigned on her own. The problem would be her taking up the end stool at the bar in the Club every day and drinking her pay.

Well, that might be a solution, too - not good for her, and might be grounds for dismissal (alcoholics aren't good officers or doctors, as a general rule).

I wonder. . . how about someone closer to home? Tony Nesbit is shaping up; and she could have a bit of playtime chopping his cousin up into treecat snacks, later. . . .

If you are talking about Dr. Lois Suchon. BuPers put her on ice literally, by assigning her to MARS (Manticore Arctic Research Service). She is currently serving her third tour as CMO Adamson-Prescott station at Sphinx's south pole.

I suspect her treecat bodyguard (or, hell, just 'treecat', given that we've a couple dozen of them running off to Haven......) would enjoy that prospect very much. As for Mr Nesbit himself (the decent one)... assuming she doesn't terrify him so far into his shell he doesn't come out for a decade, I think that would make a very interesting story.

Or, if we're going to swing the other way, she and Leslie Montreau might find that they have about as much in common in bed as they do in politics...

....what? I like my lesbians!

What is it about Baen authors disposing of disfavored officers to Arctic assignments? A certain officer in another long-running Baen series was reassigned to his world's equivalent posting for interfering with the protagonist's pursuit of his lady love. Well, that and getting involved in politics when he shouldn't have.

Well, you have to send 'em somewhere... It's either Anartica

OR...

...Basilisk Station!

I believe textev has mentioned a weather station within the polar circle of Gryphon or possibly Sphinx.

As for the worst possible assignments in the RMN, it must be the Masada occupation force. But you don't want to assign idiots there.

Function-wise, the Matapan terminus picket may have replaced Basilisk as the do-nothing punishment station, but that practice only arose because of political issues surrounding Basilisk's annexation. It's long been discontinued.
