Ruth is a conundrum, and one I (shockingly) don't have an answer for. Westman, though... I would probably be cheering for him to get with Helen if she weren't just so perfect with Paulo, but surely there has to be someone somewhere in Tenth Fleet who can handle him!!

Isn't Lars Zilwicki single at the moment? Just a thought.

I think Lars tends to have a series of girlfriends - the boy's in such demand they have to work up a rotation.... He may come across as too young for Ruth still, and she herself may have some wild oats to sow before settling down at all.

I'm sure he's too young for Westman, and even I can't wrap my head around Westman not being ridiculously heterosexual anyway.

Westman is as hetero as it gets. I'm all for gay characters in the Honorverse, but Stephen Westman is not going to be one of them, and from what little I've seen of Lars, he falls in the same category.

As for Ruth - she may wind up with a Havenite we haven't met yet, or even one of the liberated slaves on Torch.

Ooh, that's a good one.

I would guess most folks are pointing for Ginger to get together with Aubrey Wanderman, since they have been together (on Wayfarer and Vulcan), but I have always seen them as close friends, not romantically close.

But they (and the rest of the Vulcan staff) are headed to Bolthole, and if we could pry Shannon Foraker out of rose's claws (*ducks waffle iron*), Aubrey and Shannon might be an intriguing match...

But that isn't the question. I could see Ginger and that young Havenite Vice Admiral from Second Hancock finding each other...compatible. Even would make sense, if he was sent back as escort/protector of Bolthole.

Interested in seeing what otehrs think...

Agreed, Wanderman and Lewis were closer to a younger brother/older sister relationship. Strictly friends, and guidance.

Can't quite see Aubrey and Shannon shacking up together, he's bright but no where near enough to interest Shannon.

And the last, you are talking of Oliver Diamato, sole senior survivor of the Hancock Shrikes? Could be interesting with Lewis that's for sure, she'd run circles around him.

Found the stuff earlier I had mentioned, Scotty did indeed have something going with Jackie Harmon.

Ashes of Victory wrote:"I thought it would have that effect," she told him with a smile. "I remembered Lady Harrington bragging on what a hot-shot boat bay officer and pinnace pilot you were back when I commanded Parnassus, and I knew you'd worked closely with Jackie Harmon." Her eyes darkened, and Tremaine's mouth tightened. He had worked with Commander Harmon closely, and liked her a lot, and the news that she'd been killed in action under Truman's command in Hancock had hit him hard.

So Scotty was hit hard by the death of Jackie Harmon, who he knew well. And then he'd also known Mercedes Brigham well and had paled after seeing the aftermath of her mass rape treatment.

Really has the appearance of being a cub who enjoys spending time with women older than he is, regardless of the exact manner of the relationship. Honor, Alice Truman, Mercedes Brigham, Jackie Harmon, and so on and so forth.

I put that down to Harkness influence, being a grizzled older fighter influencing the easily swayed young officer seeking approval and guidance.

I think he's stretching it, too.

*sighs and dials up ambulance for the forum's collective heart attack*

As for Oliver Diamato, I have plans for him and their name is Andrea Jaruwalski.
