Partially Paolo, but Bernardus is also old enough to be her grandfather which is still 'ewww yuck!' territory. As a middle age fellow myself, I'm not looking for the young'uns, I'd rather be with someone who knows enough of life to be interesting and that has seen and handled many of the same level of troubles/difficulties that I have. Of the older characters which we have available, I'm going with Dame Alice simply on the basis that I think he'd be good for HER, and she'd be a worthy successor to manage 10th Fleet-y mobile Talbott things when FF comes calling while Henke is out in the sticks beating up on the MAlign and the SLN. ---------------------

very interesting speculation. about the only person we haven't done matchmaking for is Michelle Henke.
so who is brave enough to try and win the heart of the commander of 10th fleet? Micheal Oversteen perhaps? though given how she like to pin his ears back in sims that might not work. also can you imagine the horror his family would feel if one of the high ridge family went and married into the royals actally that last point is a reason for. both of them would love to annoy his family that way. |

I think Mike would end up strangling him at some point. Frankly, it's hard for me to think of anyone who would not strangle him at some point. I'd match him with Sonja Hemphill - their similar politics and backgrounds would prevent a lot of cause for friction and both of them need someone mighty smart to keep up with them. The Henke/Tourville ship works for me, but I've a soft spot for the Henke/Westman one too. And if I've already irked rose by turning down the Hemphill/Foraker ship (assuming rough monogamy all around, anyway), let me go ahead and throw the Tremaine/Foraker proposal out. They were similarly ranked officers back when Honor, Scotty and all were captured by Tourville and Foraker went far out on a limb to mitigate the worst of that for them, so there's some positive contact in their history. And more happy relationships across that national border are things to smile about. |

Michael Oversteegen is obviously the dashing Regency hero to Abigail Hearns' spitfire Regency heroine and therefore destined to marry her. Duh. Though I admit I've seen more than a little sexual tension between Henke and Oversteegen. I think she would strangle him in the end, though. Hence, Tourville. Similar "cowboy" personality, less of the annoying aristocratic savoir faire that so annoys Michelle. (Also, talk about the diplomatic coup of the century for the Grand Alliance. ~*~

Ah yes, she disappeared, but she also did not receive prolong. So even if she hadn't disappeared, she would have died from old age. That's one of the primary reasons Stephen Westman hated Van Dort so much... because VD 'lied' about his age and having prolong, etc etc andthen that he didn't seem to care about the disappearance of his sister (throwing himself into building the RTU and such). I forgot about the disappeareance, but she definitely did not receive prolong. I got 1/2 of the details right at least. Close enough for government work |

Van Doort is around 90; Susan Bannister was younger than he was. She'd have a very good chance of still being alive (though quite old). |

Henke and Touville? well could happen. don't see it myself but then I have trouble seeing anyone for mike, she is just so senior now that anyone within the RMN is tricky, and while she was treated well I'm not sure she can get past the POW time to see a heavenite as a good choice. |
