A few years back when the e-book marketplace seemed a competitive environment. I invested in a NOOK E-book from Barnes & Noble. I loved my first one and when the new versions came out upgraded to the HD+. Again I loved it, I bought many books for it (including most of David's) and enjoyed being able to take my library everywhere. I also liked the white noise app that helped me sleep or tune out distractions when waiting around a doctors office for my in-laws (I run them to most of their medical appointments) or studying for a test. Angry Birds & Plants vs. Zombies provided me with mindless, but entertaining game play and all was well. I bought Nook because I wanted to try and keep one more book chain open when it seemed like they were closing right and left.
Alas The years have advanced and it appears trying to help the underdog in the E-book marketplace and support one of the last major book store chains around was a good deed gone awry. First their in-house models were being tossed to the wolves and an inferior Samsung branded tablet began replacing them, so that when my beloved HD+ failed and needed a new battery, there were none anywhere to replace it with, then B&N abandoned their reader programs for MAC & Win7, Now they are closing their Win8 store and access overseas and it appears the end is drawing nigh. Nook for web seems to work for naught and the it can only be but a little longer till the Win8 app no longer functions either. All the titles I have bought from B&N will become lost to me. Very well B&N, I tried to help, I tried to stem the tide of monopoly and the inexorable grind of Amazon for monopoly dominance of the book marketplace. I stuck with you, but you have abandoned me. So fare thee well. I shall succumb to the dark side of the force and purchase a ... Dare I utter the words ... Kindle Fire. It is no step I wanted to take, but it is the only choice you have left me. Goodby B&N, goodby. P.S. And B&N ... I hate you. Larry |

All of your Nook titles should be in .ePUB format. Calibre ebook management software should be able to convert them to .AZW3 (kindle) or .MOB (Mobi format, a precursor of AZWx formats) The only problem you might have is if the Nook titles are protected; Calibre can't work with DRM protected ebooks. (corrected acronym to DRM.) Last edited by Weird Harold on Sat Jul 11, 2015 11:18 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Convert the files?
http://classroom.synonym.com/convert-no ... 18837.html http://calibre-ebook.com/ And well, that kind of crappiness is the reason i usually only use formats that has opensource alternatives. And avoid anything using copyprotection as far as i ever can(this may stop you from using your bookfiles again, there are ways around it but those are technically illegal no matter how stupid it is for your case). |

The problem is to get them downloaded in the first place. I think there's a copy on the nook,(which is as dead as Marley's ghost) but I don't seem to find them on my PC in any format. So tickling them free from B&N is the first step. Larry |
