Particularly if we're going to appeal to religious (and there read "Christian") definitions of marriage considering how many different forms of marriage are found in the bible alone.

I mean if we're going to worry about bigamy... how many wives did Solomon have again? 1,000? :D

Even more complicated than that, since only 300 of those were actually wives, the rest being concubines.

Let's see ... words that I thought had fixed meanings:
Man, Woman, Person, Human;
yes, no, never, always;
am is are was were;

I know: one, two, three, four, five, six, ...!

Gender identity is becoming increasinly fluid. Although i guess you don't approve of that so I won't argue that one.

But a recent court case redefined the definition of 'one' (it was to do with a scientific patent case).

And the etymology of the english verb to be (am, is, are, was, were) is more interesting and convoluted than i think you'd suspect.

And for hard fact reasons.

Basic examples are, genetically:
Instead of having XY, a person can have most combinations up to XXXXY.
And then there´s the weird chance of having XX/XY, where different parts of the body have different genetics, basically being twins in a single body. Completely unnoticeable until multiple DNA tests are done on different organs.
Probably at least 1% of people have one of the above.

Then there´s hormones, you can effectively be either male or female but genetically be the opposite. Numbers uncertain but probably a few % of people have this.

And then there´s the mind development, where there´s a few regions that differs by gender, a small percentage of people have the opposite to their physical gender, and as much as 15-30% have at least 1 part as the "other" gender.

So, something between 1/6th and 1/3 of all people are not completely obvious in regards to gender.

Polygamy is in the Bible but not endorsed by the Bible. A lot of the old testament is recording the history of the Jewish people and as part of that history it records the facts about multiple marriages. But that doesn't mean that the Bible is endorsing that lifestyle. In fact the Bible endorses the opposite: man and wife become one flesh etc etc. The polygamous marriages of the kings can be seen as a life lesson. Basically person X married multiple wives and here's what happened: it ended badly.

And just as it was with gay marriage, you haven't actually proven that this is a bad thing.

Just get over it already. People who disagree with you on who they love and how they want to live are not the end of the world as you know it.

Someone filing a suit isn't "opening the floodgates". People file these kinds of suits ALL THE TIME. (And, spoiler, they're not going to win this one)

Hell, if someone wanting to be polygamous is opening the floodgates then I refer you to freaking Utah and ask you... when exactly do you think those gates opened? Because it sure as hell wasn't a recent thing.
