I don't want to get too gross, but for either collecting genetic material or for transmitting an infection, Nynian's agents are alarmingly well suited.

Except that Clyntahn doesn't leave the Temple. Neither Merlin nor Aivah are in very good positions to either poison Clyntahn or get genetic material.

Presumably the Vicarate's good-time girls are imported from outside the Temple.

Mistresses are not quite the same as "good time girls", by which I believe Expert Snuggler meant prostitutes who might have connections to Aivah. As I said, we have no evidence that either Aivah or Merlin have any way of getting a sample of Clyntahn's DNA.
