I think Mr weber should publish an atlas with detailed maps of the countries, like what are already in the books, as well as maps of the cities, and maos of the military campaigns he described. I keep getting confused about the directions and paths the fleets and armies are takihg, even when I go back maps for reference. Some maps with detailed military movements would be awesome.

Also, he doesn't fill in the detail in the maps until he needs the detail in the maps, thus retaining authorial discretion to change his mind about stuff.

Doesn't seem to have been updated in a bit though. Most of the details for the last campaign in South March (Such as town names, the Kyplinger Forest, etc. aren't there.)
It's about he best we have of course, but still frustrating at times.

Fortunately I have all the books in electronic format so I can pool up the detail maps in a different window if I'm really confused about time and place movements. It's cumbersome, but it helps. There are times though, as I'm trying to visualize a battle that a map something like this would help.

The current map was released shortly before MTaT, which provided us with quite a lot of speculation, as towns, roads, and especially canals suddenly appeared where none had been before. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated since - I'm not sure if RFC had someone help, or if he created the map himself. (I seem to remember him commenting about it when it was created.) Given his constant busy schedule and health scares, I'd hope that any updates to the map would be handled by someone else from now on. They'd need whatever software and templates he used to create it, and my 2001 desktop isn't volunteering!

Someone did create a map with arrows showing the movements of the armies in LaMA. Since I STILL can't figure out which side of the forest the final battle in LaMA took place, despite re-reading that section multiple times, it came in handy. Unfortunately, the link to it no longer works.

"Oh bother", said Pooh as he glanced through the airlock window at the helmet he'd forgotten to wear.

The reported battle was on the west side of the forest [toward Thesmar] when the Charisians mounted corps held of the combined attackes of the Dohlarans/Desnarians in the savage fighting under the eaves of the forest.

The unreported attack out of Fort Tairys was from the east then finished them off, except for the Dohlern remnants who escaped down the east side of the forest before heading back toward Thesmar [well northish]

Hi all,

This link is working, at least for me:http://www.nfgarland.ca/Safehold_MTnT2.jpg

The other thing I have done is to scan the maps in LAMA's printed edition and blow them up a bit and print them out. Then I can rather crudely sketch in new info as it comes up.

That was me. It ought to be available at http://www.nfgarland.ca/Safehold_MTnT2.jpg. It is crude. Bear in mind you have to expand it greatly before you can see any troop movements.

Firefox tells me that the image can't be displayed because it contains errors, although it worked several months ago when you first posted it. Hmm...

Have you been browsing Chinese sites??!!

Firefox works for me fine right now even after clearing my cache. It is a very large file and that may be causing a problem. Try a different browser or just download the file and use a jpeg viewer.
