[spoilers]What happens when Shannon Foraker meets...

It is my understanding that Thandi is rather young and still in her 20s, so she wouldn't have Honor's decades of martial arts training. Thandi has far more mass and brute strength except for Honor's prosthetic arm, but they have essentially the same Geenie, fast reflex package. Unlike most people, Honor actually has the physical strength to injure or kill Thandi.

I'm still rather amazed at some of the references about Thandi's past in CROWN OF SLAVES about her being raped by the off planet overlords. Seems like a good way for the overlords to loose critical portions of their anatomy. (Thinking of a scene from the best forgotten movie THE BARBVARIAN QUEEN. I will not explain it.)

Of course you realize that I made this request out of purely humorous, purient interest?

But it would be very interesting to see that sparring contest. I think Thandi and Honor both would be interested in the challenge. Thandi has the natural strength and speed advantage, I'm sure, but Honor has been doing Coup for a very long time. I don't remember Thandi's age, but I'm pretty sure she's less than half Honor's age.

I can't remember what, if any, martial art Thandi was stated to use, but if she hasn't seen the coup yet, I strongly suspect that she will like it.

My guess would be 2/3 falls to Honor until Thandi learns how Honor fights. Then slowly reverse that as Thandi learns the coup (or learns the best ways to counter it)and gets a few more years of training in.

I, too, have thought that a sparring match between Honor and Thandi would be great. I wouldn't want a cat fight, just a really good sparring match...although perhaps with some form of emotional tension involved. I'd be curious to see how it would go, and whatever the case, it could be a great sparring opportunity for both of them.

Am I the only prevert on this forum. (Spelling intentional, how many recognize the film reference?) I want them angry but less than lethal, perhaps drunk getting into a knock down, drag out, hair pulling, clothes ripping cat fight damn it. Do you think may be Weber could do it as a graphic novel?

But, there are some other folks around, you know. Folks known for boot strapping solutions too primitive to occur to snooty Manties, and folks with a tech base superior to what the Republicans have in place. I am not going to bet that the Graysons come up with the solution, but I wouldn't bet against it. And, I probably would bet that they get it deployed fleet wide first.

OK We're getting off point. How about when Shannon meets Scotty? Love in the air? He already respects her for her talent and her decency when Honor was captured.

Only when Honor was captured as far as I know. Both of their senses of duty would have allowed any kind of fraternization then, even if they had been in contact. I was thinking of when she meets him as an ally now. The mutual respect is already there and he is about to make flag rank.

I thought that he met her when Honor captured her in Silesia. Yep, they even attended at least one of Honor's dinner "parties" together.
